Author has written 9 stories for Anne of Green Gables series. Hello! I discovered this site when I was in sixth grade, and I have loved it ever since. I began posting stories when I was a freshman in college, and even now that I'm in the workforce, I still love telling stories. However, you will likely notice fiction writing is not my forte. I was trained in journalistic and research writing which will be abundantly clear when you read my stories (short sentences, unimaginative dialogue, etc.). But, in an effort to sharpen my skills and learn to apply criticism better, I am making myself post stories now. So that's how I got here, and we'll see where this all goes next. I do hope you enjoy my little stories! So I've seen other authors do this, and I thought I might as well. Weight: This story is based off of a paragraph from chapter 9 of Anne of the Island. L. M. Montgomery mentions that Gilbert was Anne's escort at nearly all Redmond functions and that Redmond gossip shipped them. Hard. I always wished Montgomery had included some of those functions, but alas, she did not, so I decided to do so myself. The Wedding: Let's be honest, what Anne fanatic doesn't love Diana's wedding? It's just so inconveniently and wonderfully romantic at a time where neither Anne nor Gilbert need any more romance or tension. Just such a great scene in the books and the movie. In this story, I went with a modern theme because I really wanted Anne and Gil to have a legitimate fight, and I didn't think that classic Anne and Gil would have enough guts to do so. The response to this story was pretty surprising (in a good way), and because of some of the comments on the last chapter, I'm adding a sequel set in the same universe. The Convocation: Set after The Wedding, around Anne and Gilbert's senior convocation. The Proposal: A prequel to the Wedding. The story of Gilbert's first proposal to Anne. Four Minutes, Thirty-Three Seconds: Set after Gil's first disastrous proposal. I always imagined that at some point Anne and Gil would accidentally run into each other at the same party and would have to dance together even though they were at odds. I feel like the tension there would be interesting and incredibly awkward. Kill Me Now: AU of what would happen if Anne and Roy had gotten engaged, and Anne had the nerve to send Gil an invite. A Long Drive: This story is based purely around how awkward (but awesome) I thought it might be if Anne and Gil had to carpool to Diana's wedding together. A Little Late: I really don't like super public proposals too much, and I always thought (1) Roy would like them and (2) it would be awful for Gil to have to watch Roy propose to Anne. So that's how this story got rolling. |
