I'm no expert, I'm not a particularly good writer in general but these are some observations I've made over time from reading and writing (Yes I have stuff written I haven't posted...They are to messy at the moment) crossovers. Balancing is difficult with any crossover containing a set of disparately powerful character, you often find that authors will weaken or strip a character of their powers and abilities to give them a challenge. Or they fundamentally change the way the characters act/think. Universally these stories with a few exceptions fail. This is due to the simple fact that people come to crossovers to see things change. They don't want to see the same scenes happen the same way with slight tweaks from an added character. They come to see a character shatter the mold, to fundamentally change the story and plot. I now have an archive of our own account called The_Pen_or_The_Sword. |
