Poll: Should I continue writing in the AU of Psithurism where Hadria gets a pet basilisk? It won't be a proper story, and it definitely'll be updated even less regularly than Danse Macabre, but I was wondering if anyone was interested in seeing more chapters of various events in Hadria's life that would occur differently with a basilisk involved. (I was thinking more along the line of accepting requests for specific situations I could write about?) Vote Now!
Author has written 8 stories for Harry Potter, Merlin, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Good day to all of you who have decided to have a peek at my dreary little profile page!
My PenName is taken from Latin, mainly because I suddenly had a Latin obsession (amongst other languages, such as French and German), and, well, "Quid quid latine dictum sit, album videtur."
In other words, "Anything said in Latin sounds profound."
But you can just call me Rare/Avis/RA.
I'm 21 this year and currently studying architecture in university, which generally means busy schedules and sleepless nights without counting in time for reading and writing, so apologies for my procrastinating updates. I found Fanfiction.net a few years back, though I've only recently decided to have a try at writing fanfiction myself.
If you have any questions about myself, my fanfiction or just want to chat for no reason whatsoever, feel free to PM me!
Also, you can find me on AO3 too! Search for RareAvian and you should find it.

Side Note (Sort of)
Fandoms I'm currently into:
(Books/Movies) Lord of the Rings, Hobbit, Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland (forever intrigued by the Nonsensical Dream World in there), Star Wars (I've only watched the first six episodes though), Pirates of the Caribbean (the three? four?? five??? main ones)
Also, Book Recommendations (If you're a reader, aside from Harry Potter, I would totally rec you to read these because the authors' words are magical I swear):
Bartimaeus Sequence (read it! Seriously, read it! Bartimaeus is awesome), Terry Pratchett's Tiffany Aching series (the writing style is so pleasant to read), The Book Thief (if you've watched it, go read it)
(TV Series) BBC Sherlock, Merlin (avoiding the last few episodes like the plague because tragic spoilers), Big Bang Theory (still far far away in Season 5)
(Anime/Manga) Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Haikyuu, Noragami, Durarara, Kuroshitsuji, Fullmetal Alchemist, Code Geass, Shokugeki no Soma, Assassination Classroom, Death Note, Shingeki no Kyojin/AoT, D.Gray-Man, Spirited Away (And a few other Ghibli stuff), Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Ao no Exorcist, 07-Ghost, Gangsta (just started)
(Cartoons) Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir
What category does Marvel fall under? Because I've enjoyed some of their movies and (to a lesser extent... for now) comics.
My Stories (Progress)
In which three individuals favoured by the Higher Entities are sent back in time in a green flash of light. A Grindelwald-raises-fem!Harry fanfiction. Questionable and strange things are bound to come up, but Hadria Potter will NOT be Dark, not completely anyway. There will not be unnecessary bashing of anyone either. Same thing goes for my other fic.
Latest chapter - Chapter Fifteen.
Next up - Chapter Sixteen on Temporary Hiatus due to the terrible combination of school work and writer's block. Apologies to all who are waiting!
Psithurism - Alternate ending to Chapter Seven of Danse Macabre, in which Hadria gets a Basilisk instead of a Jarvey.
Natsukashii - It's New Year, Hadria is left home-alone while Gellert goes off to find a magical healing peach. What could possibly go wrong?
Schicksalsschlag - Wherein Hadria meets Snape at a Potions Convention when Gellert brings her there just before school starts.
Ingluvies - Hadria's Lethifold reveals its usefulness when it eats someone important.
Sigel - A theory about golden eyes, discussed in a time of myth and a land of magic.
Desenrascanco - Hadria learns a lesson about pissing off Death, drunk driving, and the responsibilities that come with great power.
What would happen if one were to take seven characters from four different alternate universes and throw them together into a world where the Chosen One is a carefree girl, Hermione is in Ravenclaw, Draco is actually trying to be nice, Ron is more mature, Neville isn't scared of his own shadow, and... what happened to Voldemort?
Current Status: On Hiatus

'Izsak' is the Hungarian form of 'Isaac' which means 'Laughter' (This middle name that I've given him is non-Canon to the Potterverse)
'Gerwald' is a German name meaning 'Spear-Rule' (Similar to his first name. Go Harry Potter Wiki to check out etymologies for Canon names)
'Grinsen' is German for 'to Grin' or 'to Smirk' (Chosen to match the middle name I created for him, as well as his personality)
'Geist' is German for 'Mind', 'Spirit' or 'Ghost'
'Nacht' is German for 'Night'
Name: Hadria Jamie Potter
Alias: Hadria "Hydra" Grinsen, Nymphe (nickname in Greece)

Wand: (currently) Elder, Basilisk Plume-feather, 11.5 / Rowan, Phoenix feather, 12
(formerly) Elder, Thestral Tail-hair, 15 / Holly, Phoenix feather, 11
... Name Etymologies ...
'Hadria' is the feminine form of 'Hadrian' which possibly means 'Dark' (Also chosen because it sounded similar to 'Hydra', and we all know how hard it is to kill that many-headed creature. Quite suitable for a Darker Girl-Who-Will-Live-More-Than-Once I think)
'Scáth' is Irish for 'Shadow'
'Noh' is the romanisation of the Japanese for 'Skill' or 'Ability' (Reasons for choosing this name is in Chapter Four: Familial Life)
'Snag' is Irish for 'Hiccup'/Gasp/Catch (in one's voice) etc, also used to mean a type of bird and often used with other words as the name of certain birds e.g. snag-breac = magpie. It is a 'hitch' in English, or something that sticks out and causes trouble.
'Holly' should be obvious enough, being the name of a genus of shrubs bearing blood-red berries. Incidentally, it represents protection, sacrifice, truth and luck, and it an important symbol in Celtic astrology. (The significant fact here is that holly used to be the wand wood of our main character, and that the snowy owl is a now a reminder of more than one important part of Hadria's old life.)
The above information will be constantly updated as the story progresses, according to what can be revealed without being a spoiler.
Anything below this line are stuff I found on the Profile pages of other Authors and decided to add to mine.
15 ways to annoy a non-Tolkien fan.
1: Insult them in Elvish. Do not offer translations.
2: Tell them they’ll end up just like Denethor. Refuse to tell them what happened to Denethor.
3: Threaten to feed them to Shelob. Laugh evilly when they ask who Shelob is.
4: Quote Gandalf. Constantly. No matter how irrelevant the quotes are.
5: Say, ‘I would cut off your head for that, if it stood but a little higher from the ground’ every time they insult LOTR/The Hobbit.
6: Play ‘LOTR in 99 seconds’ on a loop whenever they are around.
7: Walk barefoot all day. Say that you are getting in touch with your inner hobbit.
8: Demand an explanation of why they dislike ‘the masterpieces of the esteemed Professor’ every time you see them.
9: Whenever they suggest doing something, refute it by saying, ‘One does not simply (insert verb here)’.
10: Hum the Shire theme incessantly.
11: Whenever a plane flies overhead, shriek, 'wraiths! Wraiths on wings!' and go hide in a closet.
12: Base all English essays on the lord of the rings books or movies.
13: Constantly ask them what their elf eyes see.
14: Talk like Gollum.
15: Threaten them with the wrath of the Valar
