Author has written 8 stories for X-Men: The Movie, and X-Men.
These are my stories about Nightcrawler. He is my favorite X-Man because he has a cool history and personality. Not to mention that he is blue and was in the circus. Plus he likes old swashbuckling pirate movies and fencing. How could one not like him?
I started re-writing his backstory in 2003 after X2 made him the most inexplicable Catholic ever. I liked the portrayal of a very uber religious Nightcrawler in hippie clothes, but at the same time felt like it was unconnected to the comic book character. So, I used my own research, experiences as an amateur circus performer, and love of the comics to seek a balance. So the stories are neither set in the comic or the movie-verse. They take place in the past and represent the history that I wish Nightcrawler had.
There are also a few other stories that stem from the Nightcrawler character I play in the "Nightscrawlearth" role playing game on http://www.nightscrawlers.com, which takes place at the non-canon, utterly fictitious "Xavier University". The point of the game was to take known X-Man characters and while keeping their powers, names, and nationalities intact, create alternate histories for them and play them as college age. (Like our own Ultimate - the characters are younger, still learning their abilities, and didn't inherit the relationships of the original comic canon.) There I play Nightcrawler as a priest (I had a bet that it could be done well) who teaches history and foreign languages at the school.
I hope you like them.
