I'm just a fanfiction reader and writer, there are only a couple of reasons why you stumbled upon my profile:

1. I wrote a review for one of your stories

2. You read a review I wrote, for a story I liked or disliked

3. I marked one of your stories as a favorite or put you on alert (and wondered who did that and didn't leave a review!?)

Well whatever the reason may be, you are here now.

I read a lot of fanfics and there are many things that I don't like.

1. The story is too short. Usually I avoid one chapter stories but when a good summary catches my eye I just have to read it. Afterwards I wish there were more chapters to such a good fanfic.

2. Bad summaries. If summaries have grammar mistakes or when a writer flat out states their summaries are bad then that only means their whole story is bad and so I don't read it.

3. Songfics. I avoid them like the plague.

4. When characters are out of character. Why is it so hard for some writers to keep their characters in line? Have they not watched the show or something? It is ok if it is a different AU but otherwise keep them in character.

5. Cliffhanger. When I read a good fanfic and get to the end of the chapters but it still isn't a complete story. I leave a positive review and hope the story will continue. But then I read what other reviewers wrote and see that the story hasn't been updated in years. It makes me sad.

6. Forced drama. Sometimes I see stories that have drama just for the sake of drama. In some fanfics I could clearly see drama where there are supposed to be none. It just derails the plot. I don't like drama that much unless it is well executed and in a believable way.

7. The story takes an unexpected turn. When I read a good fanfic and then something happens that I didn't expect, or I had thought it will go differently in my mind. Sometimes stories like this make me stop reading them.

8. Timeskips. Sometimes timeskips are not good because some readers like me like to know what happened during that time.

9. When authors make their characters reference quotes from other media. Like for example: if a character says "may the force be with you" in a story and universe where it is far far away from the star wars galaxy. This just irks me to no end! It completely ruins the story and immersion for me, and I just can't continue reading it anymore.
