Sex: if it's not obvious that 98.9% of the authors on this site are female, then shame on you.
Ack... I keep getting people who subscribe to my stories that I've written a hundred years ago and make me feel incredibly ashamed... This is why I like the idea of finishing stories before ever publishing them, because when you get someone like me who has a good idea, but never really fleshes it out before putting it out there for the world to see. Anyways, as for those stories I've written, to anyone who's holding out any hope of my updating them, you can probably just forget about it. I'm not a completely different person from that time, but I definitely have a different outlook on the world, and reading back at my old stuff makes me feel like I'm reading a stranger's works, and experiences change the way you write, so if I ever did pick up writing again, it would be a completely different story.
And honestly, as an English major in college, it's really hard to want anything to do with writing after the many, many research papers I've had to write for assignment. There's something about doing it as a chore that makes you stop doing these things for fun... This is definitely true for reading!!! The very thing that inspired me to become an English major (devouring novels) has now become a major chore!! So, you can see where this is all going...
I know many other talented writers have the ability to juggle all of these things, but I'm simply not one of them. I'm sorry I put stories out that I never finished, and I'll leave them out for the people who like to come back to them, but there's zero possibility of me ever finishing them. Sorry!! But there are still many much more talented writers out there with new stories every day, so go read them!
