![]() Author has written 8 stories for Ranma, Evangelion, Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Oh My Goddess!. "Holy shitfire, Batman! Someone's actually reading about this author!" "Well, Robin, it just goes to show, some people are beyond both boredom and redemption, like people who constantly say 'Holy anything' all the time." "Holy speech-making, Batman, what does that- urk!" "DIE, YOU INSOLENT, NONSENSICAL, MOTOR-MOUTH! DIE!" I'm a guy, hailing from the wet state of Washington, where I write my fanfiction out of a sense of boredom and the fact that I have to have something do do between work, reading, and the time I get to spend with my wife and daughter. I prefer non-traditional, or out-of-the-blue pairings. I can't stand Mary Sue characters, meaning people that someone made up, inserted, and they happen to be perfect in the ways that no one else is, and the main character falls for them with all the subtlety and timing of a wrecking ball landing on an orphanage. Example: I enjoy Nabiki/Ranma or Kasumi/Ranma, or sometimes even minor-characters-who-disappeared-after-one-chapter/Ranma. Though I'll occasionally read the canon Ra/Ak pairing, most of the time it bothers me, because the only way it really works is if Akane starts behaving fairly OOC. Yes, my first story length Ranma 1/2 fanfic, "Ranma's Morning Confession" is Ra/Ak, but only because it was my first. It was simply easier, and to be honest, I needed to make sure I had it out of my system before moving on. You will not see another Ra/Ak pairing under my name, unless it's a one shot... probably making fun of it. Which bring me to point number two: I like fanfiction. Lots and lots. But the following is NOT fanfiction: "one day when he was out running ranma ran across shampoo making a delivery What the hell is wrong with you? So many stories, that actually had an original plot, and a good storyline, I've had to leave after reading a chapter or two because the author can't be bothered with quotation marks, punctuation, or even remembering to occasionally use a paragraph. I know that not eveyone has a beta, but use SpellCheck, at least. If you won't use a beta reader, change the font into something different (believe me, this will acually help), and reread your chapter. Slowly. It'll cut down on the errors. Anonymous flames are for cowards. If you're gonna bitch, sign it. Anyway, I'd like to thank those wonderful people out ther who leave reviews, and leave them often. I'd list them all by name, but there're too many, such as Xero-Ghost, Hououza, Dogbertcarrol, Innortal, Wharpt, Dennisud, KoallyKitty, Shinji the Good Sharer, Imortis, LunaBOB, and... now look what you've made me do! There's many more out there who I have not named, but don't think for one second that I don't appreciate it just as much every time a review from you pops into my in-box. On another note, stories I like very much will end up on my favorties list. Don't think that means I don't like your work if it isn't there. At the moment, it takes stories of a very high fare to make it on the list (although there may be some left over from when I first started reading fanfiction and just added anything). Authors on my fav list are people who write a lot of really good stories. Again, if you're not on the list, it's not because I don't like you or your work, I'm just trying to keep it down. Realistically, if I put EVERY author or EVERY story I liked on the lists, they'd be annoyingly long. So, there, a tiny bit about me, and some ranting about some other stuff. 3-30-11 - Not dead yet! |
