One last time, she only wanted to see her son one last time. Fifteen years since Cloudjumper took her away, Valka returns to Berk to see her son before leaving forever. But the son she left has grown up, and he's taken after her in more ways than one. For Hiccup, his life suddenly changes when he finds a mysterious dragon lady in the woods. Set during HtTYD. AU.

A 'What if Hiccup left' fic. In the arena with the Monstrous Nightmare, instead of telling Toothless to leave, Hiccup jumped into the saddle and flew him away, not to return for five years. The rewrite - slightly longer with new Author Notes: The Red Death is dead and Stoick's son is badly wounded, but how can they return home when the fleet they arrived on is destroyed? Fortunately Vikings are strong and resourseful but how long will it take for them to become accustomed to working with their new dragon allies and will the whole tribe be able to accept the New Berk?

This is my first story. What would've happened if Hiccup managed to escape Berk and create a name of his own, trying to finally bring peace between dragons and vikings. Rated T for mild language and violence.
