Well my dear readers, I have an annoucnement. No no it's nothing bad. It's actually very good. As of December 10, 2009, I created a journal over break specifcally for my fanfiction readers. So pop on over for updates and what may be going on to affect my writings or what's going awesome. If you have a livejournal, feel free to add me. If you don't and you'd like to leave a comment, please leave your fanfiction net ID (or a link to your profile, which would be even better) so I can have some idea as to who you are. So check out my homepage listed at the top of this profile. Hope you stop by!
Oh my god I'm 25 years old! Where did the time go!?
Ever since I was little, my imagination was too big for a little kid. I was creating fan fiction in my head, and acting out the scenes by myself as though I were in a movie, but I had no idea what it was called and I often wondered if I was the only one. But then I stumbled across fan fiction once I got the Internet, and in the summer before 8th grade, I began writing down my thoughts. So as I have aged, my ability to write has grown. I typically get all A's on my papers for school, and at the end of my senior year I was in Honors Creative Writing. HCW is a class I had to apply to get into, and I made it in with 15 other students in the senior class of about 400 students. I was very fortunate! After graduating from Ames High School in May 2006, I attened Des Moines Area Community College for three years. In May of 2009, I graduated with my Associate of Arts degree. In December 2011, I got my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in English at the University of Northern Iowa, with a minor in Creative Writing and a minor in Film Studies...well, I was going to until the university cut it due to a damn surge of freshmen for the Fall 2011 semester...stupid basketball tournament. So, in my heart, I have a Film Studies minor because I know way more about film then the average human. Later on, I plan to go back to school and get my masters in Library Science. I'm currently on the hunt for a job! Huzzah uncertainty!
Sometimes users on ff.net expierence extreme flamming. I do NOT believe in flaming! My expierence was with the Pilot Candidate or Candidates for Goddess or, as they are known on ff.net, Megami Kouhosei fans. Their comments were unexceptable and were exceedingly hurtful; what they did was nothing less than bullying! And I am trying to be very professional about this experience despite how horrible and cruel the experience was. So if you are wondering why I made the settings for reviews for members-only, ask the so-called FANS of Pilot Candidate. They had my story removed twice because they didn't like the idea of a female/male relationship. I don't get upset and freak out with a male/male or female/female relationship. Because it was removed twice, I am on a limited life here on ff.net. Sadly I forgot the name of one certain user, but that user was the only one that stood up for me at the time, and if you're reading this: Thank you. My advice to new users of ff.net: find a community where people enjoy each others work, where they support each other and give each other advice about your works in a kind, gentle manor. Young Guns fans are very supportive and wonderful - that was the first group on here that accepeted me. Stay well away from the Megami Kouhosei universe. Well, moving on...
Some random stuff about me:
I am rather picky about crossovers. Anime crossovers are acceptable...but I'm not a big fan of everyone mixing Harry Potter characters in with stories. I do love the Potter series, but when people mix Potter with somthing like Star Trek...no. And the same goes for Twilight - no one wants Edward or Bella skipping through Wonderland and having tea with the Mad Hatter.
Stop raving about how someone else's story line isn't exactly like the movie/series/book! That is what FAN FICTION IS. And before you start raving to someone about how bad you think their work is, look at your own. People have complained about my friends' stories, or mine, and I take a peak at their work and see it needs a LOT of work.
Everyone makes mistakes when it comes to grammer and mechanics, but please don't forget to read your story a at least once before posting. Stories are easier to read and will flow much easier. So please remember to reread your work, because there is, in fact, a difference between 'their' and 'there'.
