Author has written 22 stories for StarTrek: Voyager.
I've always read science fiction for the ideas, but it's only when I watched sci-fi movies and TV shows that I realised how few female role models were around apart from the damsel in distress, the young tough warrior pin-up girl, or the traditional doctor/counsellor/mother. Then I re-discovered Star Trek Voyager and got hooked on Kathryn Janeway. I also have a soft spot for B'Elanna, Seven, Sam in SG-1, Scully from the X-files, and more recently Stella Gibson from The Fall.
Thanks for reading my fanfic. I've put them in some sort of order below. So far I've written exclusively for STV.
Specific comments on grammar, punctuation (commas? what's that?) and use of words are welcome. Constructive comments on style, characterisation and plot development are even more important, so please do not hesitate in telling me where I could do better. Some of my stories have been betaed, but many are not.
In others' stories, I look for plots that make sense, well-written characters, good writing techniques, and authors who do not butcher the underlying science when there is any. Technobabble can be fun to read though, and I also like to see some sci-fi if possible. Most canon (although I find serious C/7 hard to take) and non-canon pairings are fine. And I love angsty and dark stories (hence the avatar from the Year of Hell).
2018 - My goal is to post a new story every month, and reach (well, hopefully exceed) 55k words for the whole year. So far, so good... (April).
I do not post incomplete stories, except for The 27th Year (see why below).
The 'Early Days' collection - Fluffy one-shot stories, set early in the series. The equivalent of a single serve of chocolate ice cream with whipped cream on the top.
Mutual Understanding - An away-mission redefines the Captain's role. Rated K
A Good Officer – Chakotay gets confused at Janeway’s body language. Rated T
Falling Asleep – Chakotay helps his captain when he can. Rated K
Finding a Guide - Why we never saw the little gecko again. Rated K
NEW - More Light - Tom Paris discovers something. Rated K
Various timelines, AUs, and missing scenes - Bitter coffee, getting darker as you go down the list.
Burning - A post-Scientific Method AU. The side-effects of high dopamine levels include hedonism. Rapid ageing is much less fun. Rated T.
A Captain's Principles – An AU story with a twist. Set early in the series. Rated K
Harking the Dark – Set early in the journey, a story which ended up being much more about Tom Paris than I originally intended. Rated K
Protocols – AU. Voyager is trying to avoid the Borg, and Janeway is dark and harried. Rated T. Working on a sequel.
Doing Something for the Ship – AU. What if Suder had not killed anybody. Rated T. The Price of Killing is a direct sequel.
He'd pity you - Fifteen years later, Kashyk remembers. Do I need to say more? AU. Rated M.
Fire - Year of Hell. Kathryn Janeway learns what time does to promises. 100-word drabbles following the YoH episode timeline. Rated T.
Mementos – Set in Season 5. An examination of how not to cope with tragedy when you are the captain on a very long journey. References to self-harm. Rated T.
The 'Being Home' collection - Coffee served at home.
Seven Years Times Six –Kathryn Janeway has problems disentangling past and present. Then the future gets better. Rated K
The Last Voyager - A bittersweet story about Naomi Wildman, the last of the Voyagers. J/C. Rated K
Less Than a Day - A prequel to The Last Voyager, but written later. J/C. Rated K but contains major character deaths.
Adventure/Action with a sprinkle of drama & angst. Coffee on the go.
Red Queen Running - My first long story which I have re-posted heavily re-edited. An alternative ending to the episode 'Distant Origin'. Reset sometime in season 5 so I could bring Seven and a velociraptor face to face. Ultimately J/C.
Killing Grounds - A retelling of the episode 'Basics' because I always thought Paris had come to the rescue of the crew much too quickly.
AU stories which explore what might have happened between those two women.
Reversal – The classic AU where the Maquis has taken over Voyager. Set just before the end of Caretaker. Rated T. See the sequel Blind Trust.
Blind Trust - A sequel to Reversal. Seska's back! Rated M for a non-con scene (Chapter 4). Now complete.
The Price of Killing – Seska takes advantage of Voyager’s dire situation when Janeway is thrown in the brig following the events from Doing Something for the Ship. That short story is included at the start of this follow-up. Implied torture. Rated T
What if Voyager had not made it to Earth after all?
The Twenty-Seventh Year – A collection of independent chapters about events happening during Voyager’s 27th year in the Delta quadrant, with implied deaths of major characters. I add chapters to this collection when my muse decides to tickle me. Please note the stories refer to past C/7 and J/7 relationships.
