Playlist for "Somehow Familiar": Chapter 1: "August's Rhapsody" by Mark Mancina (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQTsW6TGAUE) Ignore the videos themselves, unless you're truly curious. I have these posted so that you can just click and read -- no need to go searching and wondering if you have the right song. That's all! A/N: 2.24.14 Hello, my lovelies. For starters, I'm not dead, which is pretty awesome. It's been about 5 years since I last updated "Somehow Familiar," and without good reason, to be completely honest. For years, I was simply blocked and overwhelmed by the fact that I had written a story that I liked so much (considering that my earlier stories were, quite simply, terrible). And then I just couldn't get past chapter 5. It was like a cement wall a mile high and thousands of miles long, and even if I had any upper body strength (which I do not), I'm definitely not like Fezzik and therefore cannot climb the Cliffs of Insanity, even in my own mind. I'm going to try to attempt to write and perhaps finish the story (which is insane to think about, as I'm SO GOOD at starting and not finishing things), though it might go in another direction that I had initially planned. I might make some minor adjustments to earlier chapters (as my writing has grown over the years), but nothing horribly substantial. Probably just the semantics and maybe tidy up the word choices. Thank you to all of you who have continued reviewing, favoriting, following, and private messaging me into action again. It has been too long since I sat down and wrote anything besides spreadsheets at work or terrible lyrics. - Ammi |
