"Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory lasts forever." Shane Falco, The Replacements
"We can't just have a tiny fraction of the people trying to save the world, a tiny fraction f--ing it over, and everybody else just hanging out waiting to see what happens. It's not sustainable." Alison Green, Strong Female Protagonist
Hey guys. So I didn't think I'd be coming back to this site because I changed a lot in the last seven years. I've grown a lot as a writer, both in non-fiction and fiction. I've written a couple of full-length skits and plays, some of which have been performed by theatre groups.
Bottom line is, my heart was captured by some of the issues that I wrote about. So I started to get out and start doing things about these issues. Traveling the world. Taking classes. Plugging into internships. Meeting people and learning new things and being passionate about life and living. Most of what I've written pre-2011 (and haven't deleted yet) is set in stone - not planning on updating it because I wrote it in a pretty dark place and I'm not planning on going back there for a literary exercise. But anyways.
I guess what I mean to say is, writers write to tell a story.
But don't be afraid to get out there and tell a story of your own.
Don't just participate in other's content - create your own. Contribute to the discussion.
Don't just observe the world - change it.
Don't write the story. Live the story.
