Update (02/18/23): Damn, I haven't made an update in like two-ish weeks. . . my bad. School made me lose track of time and perfectionism made me stop writing. Nothing seemed to come out right on this chapter. That being said, I clawed and fought and now the chapter is pretty much entirely written. I just need to go over it and fill it out and then proofread it. Hopefully I'll be able to drop the chapter by the end of the month.

Update (02/24/23): I've decided to do two run throughs on my filling out process before I start to proofread for mistakes. I'm doing this because looking back on some of my older chapters, I wind up feeling like it's too barren or there are things that I could've done better on. I'm halfway through my first run through.

Update (03/03/23): Almost done with the first revision. The second will probably go a lot faster, so I'm shooting for mid-March for the chapter to drop.

Update (03/06/23): I have just finished the first revision. I'm gonna be studying for my upcoming two exams for the next three days, so revising is gonna be pretty slow. However, I'm gonna try my best to get the chapter out before mid-March.

Update (03/11/23): I think I'm gonna drop the DOP chapter by early next week. So, some day in between Monday and Wednesday.

Update (03/13/23): I'm almost halfway through with the 2nd set of revisions. Shooting for an update on Wednesday!

Update (03/15/23): Just updated DOP, on my way to crosspost the chapter onto AO3, and I will be starting on TPJ tomorrow. Oh fuck. . . iss midnight here. . . well I guess I'll be working on TPJ today.

My Status on Requests (for as long as I have this up on my profile or something):

Unfortunately, due to not having as much time on my hands as I used to and the multiple long projects I've taken on and the past requests that I've yet to get to, I am not taking any request stories at this time or for the foreseeable future. If something changes and I'm able to get a better workaround for this stuff, this may change.

If you've talked to me about a request fic in the past and I've accepted to writing it, do not stress. I'm still gonna get to those (hopefully soon)! I am simply not taking any new ones on right now.

WARNING TO EVERYONE ON THE SITE:

Recently, a troll has been going around, mostly in the Invader Zim section but also making appearances in other fandoms (such as Power Rangers, Once Upon A Time and Victorious for starters). This troll has been leaving some truly disgusting comments, usually calling the stories they're flaming "Pigshit", and also sometimes throwing in homophobic, racist, or downright threatening remarks and even ordering some writers to LEAVE the site!

And what's truly terrible about this jerk is that they're not even settling for just hiding behind the anonymity of Guest reviews. No, they're taking things a step further by signing these reviews with the names of actual account holders in order to frame them and make them look bad. I have seen such forged reviews bearing the names of Zim'sMostLoyalServant, SolemnGlory, Zim55, xXCelestialDarkness666Xx, otherrealmwriter, and even myself; I'm sure there's more I haven't seen.

So, if you get a blatantly insulting review calling a story of yours "Pigshit" with the name of an actual account but it isn't logged in, then its more than likely from the troll and NOT the real account holder. Do not let this troll win by getting angry at actual writers or reporting them, just delete the review and move on but also let the account holder know that their pennames are being used by this troll, we all have to look out for each other after all.

Also to anyone getting Guest reviews signed in my name, saying that I'm Shaeril McBrown's boyfriend and will defend her, you need to know that these are LIES. I am NOT her boyfriend, I have NEVER been her boyfriend, do not even KNOW her, and will NOT defend her. She's just some troll who for some reason is using me as a scapegoat. I'm not the first person who has been her target as this has been happening a lot to my friend Zim'sMostLoyalServant as well, so basically if you get any guest reviews claiming that anyone is Shaeril's boyfriend and defender, just ignore it; it's just Shaeril attempting to cause trouble on the site.

A little PSA: Never ever, under any motherfucking circumstance, should you tell anyone to stop fucking writing. For one, iss stupid. You only get better at writing through trial and error. If someone stops writing, how the flying fuck are they supposed to improve?! Secondly, saying that isn't even constructive criticism. Writers- all of them, from famous authors to subtle FF writers- ALL depend on the feedback from our readers. Vision Dominican brought up an interesting albeit tragically true idea:

"Lack of reviews is the greatest killer of fan fic writers out there. We at the institute wish to let the public know of how they can pitch in to save our dying writers.

1) Drop a review every other chapter. It may not seem like much, but reviews are actually what many of us want to see. That, and hits. Hits do make us happy but we don't really know if people like our story or not.

2) Visit our author page. Those kind of hits really make us happy. It's where we showcase our entourage of friends, beta readers, and stories. Some of us even tidy up with set areas for upcoming story ideas and character bios.

3) Send an email. While normally I'd prefer a review, emails are just as good. Really, it warms my heart to communicate with another reader or writer."

What you call being "too lazy to review" is what we call "a flame to the pages" as the writers. That one minute or two that you felt "too lazy" to review is another minute of creeping discouragement that all writers feel as they begin to think...

"Why am I even here…?"

"What's even the point of continuing?"

"My skills must be terrible…no one cares for my story…"

"I'll never be a good writer...I quit."

These are only a few thoughts that go through every writer's head- that go through MY head- when we put out a chapter / story with all our heart and soul within, and we sit there…and sit…and wait…and not a single person says even a word.

If you're not a writer, you have NO IDEA how much that hurts…

If you ARE a writer, then I'm sure you know just how great it feels when someone is kind enough to leave a heartwarming and encouraging review, and you read it, smiling while thinking…"Wow…fuck...I did it…"

So, why not give fellow writers the same luxury here?

Too many times I've seen epic and utterly beautiful works of literary art fall to pieces before finally being abandoned due to the terrible discouragement that the lack of reviews can cause.

Sometimes, it is so severe that the very writer himself decides to quit, denying the world his skills of writing that I'm it would have deeply enjoyed.

So…

Just one minute, that's all it takes. Just a few gentle taps of the fingers on your keyboard, a few seconds or so of your time, and your words can SAVE a writer from a dark demise.

Do me a favor: Go find a story, ANY story, anywhere here on Fanfic,net, and see if you can help it. If it has very little / no reviews at all, just check it out, and say whatever comes to mind.

And enjoy the thought in mind that you could have just SAVED that story, with just a few taps of the keyboard…
