High school fics; They should be banned. (This obviously does not include ficts of stories where the majority of the main characters actually are high school students or the anime takes place in high school.)

Most AU's: (not ones that still take place in the cannon world and are deviations of the story) just all the; she is a cop or he is from a rich business family or they are in a band(just as bad as highschools ficts) etc.. You get the idea. They should be banned to, though not as badly as the Highschool ones. Why do I hate them? WAY TOO MANY OF THEM and more often than not are poorly written. You might as well just write your own story with your own characters. It has become so bad on some series that you have to go through pages of it just to find something cannon and I do really wish Fanfiction.net would create a filter for AU/Cannon. If I want to read a story about vampires, I WOULD NOT BE LOOKING UNDER BLEACH NOW WOULD I????

I have read the odd AU that I have really enjoyed, oddly enough they are all pretty much Historical ones, ones that take place in the far past. In the case of Bleach it's easy enough just to meld your mind around it being their past lives before becoming hollow/shinigmai/reborn etc.

OC's: I am leery of them as most are written in by crazed fan girls wanting to hook themselves up with their favourite boy. Support characters and children of Main characters are totally cool. I do enjoy second gen ficts and have a few of my own. There are a few OC ficts I have enjoyed over the years, but they are limited and few and far between.

While one shots can be well writing, I find myself frustrated by them because there are too many out there and I detest filtering through them to find something to read. One shots should be put in a folder of one shots or something so there is less 'stories' to look through while trying to find something to read.

Name flipping: Every time I read something like Ichigo Kurosaki or Naruto Uzumaki I want to pull my hair out. Worse is when the author CONSTANTLY uses the full, flipped name through out a story. I do not understand why there is any need to flip a person's name around at all. Us North Americans do have a brain and know that some cultures put the FAMILY name first. The worse part is they even do it in the official Subtitles where you can CLEARLY hear them call out Kurosaki Ichigo but the translation still comes up Ichigo Kurosaki...

I also prefer for affixes to remain as they are integral in displaying the relationships between various characters and how they change over time, or even used when insulting or being exceptionally polite between two people.

Unnecessary or damaging translations: I firmly believe that key elements to a story should not be translated. More often than not they are done poorly. A good example is Gotei 13 being translated into 13 heavenly court guard squads. Names, places, key elements to the story should be left alone as it destroys the meaning behind them when translated into a language that has no likeness. You don't see other cultures coming up with some weird name for Coca Cola like 'black carbonated flavoured water' in their own language now do you? So why can't we respect other languages and cultures and do the same?

And business wonder why we all still prefer to download our anime instead of buying it. Why would we when the translations are horrible, poorly done or in some cases, entire conversations are completely disregarded and Americanized? Why would I pay for something when they can't even get the subtitles or, in the case of Yu-gi-oh, even the character's names and plot right?
