I know I'm probably going to have many a diatribe hurled my way for heartlessly abandoning all my stories. I went on a writing-hiatus, and when I came back to resume what I had started I was appalled at my previous work, so I deleted it all. I hope I've matured enough (turning thirteen will do that to you, lol) to write something decent.
I've opened a new account (IndependenceIndividuality), but I don't have anything posted yet. I should have something up there by next Monday, if only a drabble or two. If you can't find me under that name, look under Namika_Arakida, which I might be changing it to. I'm undecided.
As for my work:
From the Shadows, She Speaks: The Story of the Serpent's Slave: Out of all the work I had posted here (fifteen or so stories, IIRC), this made me cringe the most. While the idea is still quite appealing, and I re-writing it please don't look for it anytime soon, or you shall be disappointed. The plot is vastly different, though some small things were kept (i.e. Ms. Eleanor's arcane warning) for the simple fact that I was too sentimental to part with them. I've already waded my way through three chapters (the chapters are longer now, averaging 3000 words) of that horrid pre-teen writing and I must say that it's turning out quite well. But due to my very bad habit (and it's true, they die hard) of abandoning stories, or getting distracted, I refuse to post it until it's finished. It will, if all goes as planned, eventually turn into a series similar to J.K.'s, a different book for each year, but from Ginny's PoV.
I've added a lot more details and am planning to prolong Ginny's discovery of the purpose of the diary (or at least how to use it) for at least a few more chapters, because looking back on it, it was quite stupid of me to have her write, "Hi, I'm Ginny Weasley." and have Tom go, "Wow, are you really? Tell me about Harry Potter, even though he is before my time and I've never even heard his name?". Okay, maybe it didn't go quite like that, but you catch my drift.
P.S. The title will be quite different, too. But don't worry about not hearing about it (if you care), I will stand on Mt. Kilimanjaro and shout it to the world. Though, if you don't live near Mt. Kilimanjaro (which, come to think of it, I don't either) you might not be able to hear me very well.Ginny Weasley and the Diary that Didn't Write Back - Sorry folks, but that's the end of that. I absolutely will not continue that, and with the release of HBP it would have been impossible to continue and keep in canon-compliant anyway (not that it was to begin with . . .). But, for the few who care, if they would like to get a hold of what I had posted (which is now deleted), just drop me a line at memoirs_ofa_knowitall (at) yahoo (dot)com, I have it saved to my PC.Ginny Weasley and the Diary that Didn't Write Back: Sorry folks, but that's the end of that. It Rained Today: I have re-written this, and (surprise, surprise) it is finished. It doesn't differ from the original that much, actually. Just a few sentences here and there and a spell check.
Lily's Smile: I didn't do anything to this except spell-check it and change one sentence. I was actually quite happy with it, save the spelling errors.
My Insomnia: This isn’t ever going to make it onto the web again. I just don’t like it.
Cain and Abel Were Brothers: Not coming back. Sorry.
Holes in the Floor of Heaven: I very well might re-write this, but it will be a lot different.
The Four of Us (The Summer I Was 18): Yes, you can start looking for this again in the next few months. It will be posted again.
Shoulder People: This will be posted again, and unless I am struck with awe-coaxing inspiration, it will be pretty much the same.
Who’s That Girl: From what I gather from the reviews, the most enjoyable part of the story was the ‘Fairy Festival’, and I’m writing a short fic wherein Ron and Hermione do something very similar. But as for the songfic, it’s gone.Dance With My Father - Yes, I think I might do this again. But instead I’ll have it based on the song instead of being a songfic.
Flawed Perfection: It’s coming back.
Not so Bad After All- Sorry, gone. Too cliche.
Never Was: Sorry, gone.
Past Tense: Sorry, gone
I don’t know why I felt compelled to do that. I think it’s because I left all my readers hanging for so long, and I’m feelin’ kinda guilty.
Special thanks to Hedwigmail, Silk Gowns, le manchot du destin who are very faithful readers and who left me glowing reviews that made my head swell horribly but were still wonderful to read.
