![]() Author has written 4 stories for Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. I’m finally ready to admit that I'm obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I mean, I did the back-to-back BtVS DVD/Netflix marathons, the endless news searches on Google, and the all-nighters reading fanfiction. But it was just a phase, right? So I kept waiting for the fervor to cool, the interest to wane, only it didn't. And it didn't. So, long after the show ended, the comic got weird, and the steady flow of existing BtVS fanfics started to ebb more than flow, I jumped in, Glory’s tower style, into the writing. Because I absolutely love the fact that there are others just like me (Hi, there!), who adore Buffy and Spike and Giles and the Scooby Gang and all the other characters who gain an extra depth, a second life in fanfic. Because I desperately want to keep the fandom going. I should confess that Spuffy is my OTP, although I like exploring other characters and relationships too, be it canon or fanon or really out there, be it romantic, platonic, or antagonistic. I write other, original, stories too, but somehow I'm just stuck on BtVS. Well, quite right too. Writing is usually an activity done alone and away from everyone else, but writing fanfic, with a community hungry for the same stories that drive my muse, is an exhilarating experience. I never feel alone--especially when you lovely people leave me reviews, so that I know I'm not shouting to an empty room with my story in my hand and my heart on my sleeve! :) Because I've received questions about writing stories by requests, I will add here that I will have to decline. I'm an emotion-driven writer instead of a plot-based one. And the emotions need to be authentic to me in order for the words to flow. I respond well to general prompts like "hurt/comfort" or "new love" or "ambition/frustration" and poorly to specific plot checklists. It's just the nature of how I write. By the way, I maintain a LiveJournal account where I post BtVS/Angel drabbles, ficlets and fandom discussions, that don't always make their way here. I also post at AO3, including fiction rated MA not accepted here at FFN. |
