Author has written 7 stories for Digimon.
I'd like to make an announcement.
My stats say there are about 10-20 people who visit my profile page every month. This announcement is kind of a secret, but if only 10-20 of you see it, it's not really spilling all the beans, right?
(You guys, I haven't updated this profile since August of 2008!)
So, every once in a while I still get emails that someone has favorited my stories or followed me as an author. I don't know how y'all are finding me, since it's been like 8 years and stuff, but it's always flattering to see. Oh, and if we haven't met (and chances are, we haven't), hi! I'm Paige.
A few weeks ago, I was on a fanfiction kick. Not for Digimon, for another show. Reading, not writing. And let me tell you something, you guys. Fanfiction kicks don't come very often for me anymore. I've come a long way from that fifteen-ish-year-old that started posting stories on here. Anyway, reading all this fanfiction made me think, "Hey. I kinda left my one story unfinished. And that series was kinda popular back in its day."
So I logged on. I checked my stats first (which took a few minutes, since everything is different nowadays), and to my surprise, my most popular story, Generation Two, was still getting, like, 100 visitors a month.
Guys, it's been twelve years. TWELVE YEARS. And 100 people still look at my story every month!
So I giggle and decide to read it, for nostalgia's sake. I mean, it's got a lot of views. It's got a lot of reviews. I thought, let's take a stroll down memory lane! I expected it to be bad, of course. It was twelve years ago. I was young. I expected bad.
I did not expect my eyes to bleed.
Oh, my god. WHY DO Y'ALL READ THIS? I mean, seriously, you guys, it is soooooo horrible. Seriously. Embarrassingly bad. Horrible. An abomination!
And yet it has fans. What's that about?
I don't know, but I thought I owed them more. I owe you people, some of you who have maybe been following this profile for years, and some of you who just happened upon Generation Two by chance a week ago. I wrote for you, and now, twelve years later, I feel you deserve better.
So I've decided to rewrite Generation Two.
And really deck it out. Pull out all the stops. Give it a plot aside from "pregnancy shenanigans." Make it better. Make it something that won't make my eyes bleed in twelve years.
So that's what I'm working on now. I'm giving back to you guys, who have supported me over the years, even if you're not around fanfiction anymore.
I've already started it. I don't expect it to be done for at least another month. But I'm not posting any of it until it's all done. I won't leave people hanging again.
So, if you come upon this and you're excited, let me know! Send me a message, give me some encouragement. Or, if it's been more than a month, pester me!
After I post the new and improved G2, I'll still leave up the original, for old time's sake. It'll be there if you're not done with it, or if you're interested in seeing how I've grown as a writer in the last twelve years. But I don't recommend it. And I'm not responsible for any ER bills regarding bleeding of the eyes.
UPDATE: Okay, okay, so the bad news is, it's been more than a month. The good news is, I'm doing Camp Nano in July, so I'll be writing the story every day until it's done! I've already got a good bit written. I promise, I haven't abandoned it. :)
