Author has written 12 stories for West Wing. I am a WingNut who is primarily drawn to the character of Josh, whom I see as a modern "Everyman". I write both West Wing and Gilmore Girls fiction - it's mostly just a means of retaining my creativity in a world where creativity is valued less and less as each day goes by... With respect to "shipper" stories - I hate when people write characters against the grain and make sudden, unexplicable pronouncements of love. Ack. These characters have been carefully crafted by their creators, we should honor them if we are taking the liberty of using them, and keep them truthful. Oh - And for all of the West Wing fans out there: slimwhistler's "25 Things to Live By" is a must read. Go through the 25 items - they are a terrific way to remember some of the best scenes in the series and some of them aren't bad to take on as your own personal motto... And slimwhistlerhas authored"Another 25 Things" which is an alternate universe version of the first story. slim is truly an inspired and gifted writer and is one of my all time favorites - fanfic or otherwise - and is a good friend besides. Also inspired is outtabreath, who is a GG afficianado (of course I didn't spell that right), but has branched out into TWW ,and KHo, a ficlet writer over at Live Journal who writes in a fashion of which I can only dream. For you Gilmore Girls fans, read "The Presence of Absence" by Holy Lulalicious. Truly one of the most incredible pieces of fiction I have ever read. I also want to thank the people on the Fan Fiction threads at Television Without Pity (the GG and TWW threads in particular). I never would have been introduced to fanfiction without them. |
