Hail, fair reader! Greetings and well met! I'm Sophia the Scribe, an amateur writer and poet who loves fanfiction because she can't get enough of the characters from her favorite stories. You can find my works here on FFN or on AO3 under the penname Sophia_the_Scribe. I write mainly poetry, one-shots or collections thereof, and crossovers. Besides that, the main thing you should know about me is that I am a Christian (LC-MS Lutheran to be exact). This influences my conduct on fansites: you will not find slash, incest, or graphic smut on my dashboard. Here are some other basics about me, if you're interested: Occupation: Engineer (primarily) and violinist (on the side) Location: Western United States Hobbies: Reading, writing, drawing, hiking/backpacking, skiing, hunting, fishing, sewing, playing sports... Favorite places: The mountains, especially off trail and far from any evidence of civilization; libraries and bookstores, filled with the treasures of stories and knowledge; the lonely windblown sagebrush hills of the American West; beautiful old churches, filled with stone and wood and stained glass; streams and rivers, lakes and oceans, and even the smallest trickle of water; beside the flames of the campfire, in the woods under the stars. Fandoms: I haunt many, but my favorites include the Chronicles of Narnia, Tolkien's Legendarium, Jane Austen, Avengers, Star Wars, Batman, Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes, Star Trek, Lord Peter Wimsey, Mission Impossible, Queen's Thief, Arthurian mythology, Dune, Top Gun...and if you see me elsewhere, don't be surprised! I'll find and read fanfic for almost any story I enjoy—or any combination of stories! Some favorite characters: Peter Pevensie, Aragorn and the Northern Rangers, Finrod Felagund, Captain America and Doctor Strange, Elinor Dashwood and Anne Elliot, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Bruce Wayne and Timothy Drake, Ron Weasley, Sherlock Holmes, Mr. Spock, Chief Inspector Parker, Ethan Hunt, Sophos, King Arthur, Duke Leto Atreides, Maverick... My favorite kinds of fanfiction: Team Dynamics and Found Family; Angst/Whump on my favorite characters; my favorite characters getting to be The Best at what they do; canon gapfillers and backstories; Outsider Perspective, especially when there's a Big Reveal at the end; and canon romance. On the other hand, I prefer my fanfic not include OC romantic interests, slash, and bad grammar/syntax. About my profile picture: The background is an intentionally-aged map of Narnia, the books the most beautiful old ones I could find, and the wooden box, (fake) ink pot, and candle holder all gifts from various relatives. I made the feather quill, which writes fairly well, though I opted to use a fountain pen for the calligraphy (a copied Tolkien poem) in order to avoid ink blots and other inconveniences of the unskilled using dip pens. I hope you like the image; it was fun to set up! Random FYI: My lovely sister occasionally guest stars or reviews as Miss Natasha Rostova, so if you see a cameo from her now you know who it is! I hope you enjoy my stories! Feel free to contact me with inquiries, reading suggestions, or anything else. Namárië! Grace of the Valar be with you! Farewell! May the Lion ever hold you between his paws! "Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen." (Jude 24-25) |
