Hey guys. How are you? :)
Anyways, welcome to my profile. You may call me Christina, thanks for being here. Before I delve into the main portion of the profile message, first order of business:
Announcement to Anyone Following My HP Stories:
I'm sad to have to say this, but as of right now, all old HP stories are being discontinued. This is not to say that I will never write HP again--it's more than likely I will at least dabble in it again eventually. However, if and when I do, it'll most likely be a crossover, or if not, at least be a new work. I very much doubt that I will be continuing any unfinished HP story, and this unfortunately includes Turn Back Time. Every single person who gave me so much love and support during that experience is valued and appreciated in ways I can't adequately articulate, but it's been five years and I honestly have no more interest in continuing the story, nor any idea where I'd take it if I could manage to muster some. I'm so thankful to you all for that amazing ride, but I'm going to be focusing on other avenues.
2/16/2015: One week ago, I deleted a handful of HP fanfictions that I was positive I was never going to finish. As you can see from my list now, only a scant few remain.
For the most part, I'm a TVD writer. This is because--regardless of the current disastrous state of the show--I love the essence of this story the way Kevin Williamson originally intended it, and I will forever adore the characters he brought to my screen in seasons 1 through 3. I will admit that often, in normal conversation, I steer clear of admitting that I was ever a TVD fan. It's more of an embarrassment now than I ever could've conceived it could become years ago. Occasionally, I do suffer from major writer's block with TVD because it's very very hard to delve into a world you haven't interacted with for three years and make it still feel fluid and natural. I try to do re-watches as much as I can, but there's just so much other television (and, you know, real life) out there that it becomes a little hard sometimes.
Because of everything stated above, it is important to me for you guys to know that all my TVD stories so far and from here on out will be completely dismissive and non-compliant with seasons 4 - 8 and any seasons that may come after (please, oh merciful higher power, mercy kill this show asap). This is because, for one, I haven't actually seen any S4 episodes past 4x06 (once Elena's hallucination mother was urging her to jump off the bridge, I turned off the television and haven't gone back to live episodes since), and secondly, because I do not support the plot over character garbage that is the post S3 norm nor do I support the assassination of character continuity, especially of characters that I love and adore so much in their natural and rightful forms.
Things To Know About My Fandom Dwellings:
My Favorite Season of Television: Season One of 'The Vampire Diaries' (2009 - 2010) -- 22 episodes of absolute perfection. Every character is fine tuned and consistent, every relationship is believable and multi-dimensional, every plot is well thought-out, the cinematography is gorgeous, Katherine's dresses in 1864 flashbacks are elevated to their own art form, and Nina Dobrev's performance in the last ten minutes of 1x22, Founders Day takes your breath away with the layers and nuances it exudes.
Ships I Support: Damon Salvatore/Katherine Pierce, Katherine Pierce/Elena Gilbert, Elena Gilbert/Stefan Salvatore, Elijah Mikaelson/Elena Gilbert, Kol Mikaelson/Stefan Salvatore, Tatia/Rebekah Mikaelson, Tyler Lockwood/Bonnie Bennett, Rebekah Mikaelson/Jeremy Gilbert, Alaric Saltzman/Bonnie Bennett, Finn Mikaelson/Caroline Forbes, and, when I'm feeling particularly smutty, D/E/S & D/E/S/K.
My Favorite Comedic TV Show: 'Gilmore Girls' (2000 - 2007) -- Amy Sherman-Palladino's wit, genius and writing coupled with Lauren Graham's delivery and comedic timing equals a freakin masterpiece. That's all that needs to be said about that.
Ships I Support: Luke Danes/Lorelai Gilmore, Rory Gilmore/Logan Huntzberger, Kirk/Lulu, Emily Gilmore/Richard Gilmore, Rory Gilmore/Paris Geller ('cause you just can't deny that Paris has been madly in love with Rory ever since she stole her file and read it in the bushes in 1x02), Lorelai Gilmore/Dean Forrester ('cause everybody loves a good May-December romance and -- no intentional dig on Rory -- but it's very obvious the only Gilmore Girl that ever gave a shit about Dean was Lorelai.)
All-Time Favorite TV Show: 'Everwood' (2002 - 2006) -- This was a show that bled truth, honesty and life. It was a poetic discourse on life, love and the human condition with no if, and's or but's about it. A no frills, no sugarcoating, completely uncensored masterpiece about what it means to be a human being and the trials, hardships and joy that comes with that. I'm not sure if I'll ever write Everwood. It seems almost sacrilege to touch and change something so beautiful and pure in its natural form. I have always been itching to write Bright/Hannah wedding night smut though, so that could happen one day.
Ships I Support: Ephram Brown/Amy Abbott, Bright Abbott/Hannah Rogers, Andy Brown/Nina Feeney.
Current(as of March, 2016) Television Obsession'The Newsroom' (again x2) (2012 - 2014) -- Tragically cut short, this masterpiece blend of journalism, politics, ethics, current events and unbelievably realistic characters/relationships is one the most entertaining things I've ever seen. If you watch Episode 1 and don't immediately turn to the 2nd one, please step back and reevaluate your life. Aaron. Sorkin. Those two words should really be all you need to make a decision about this one.
Ships I Support: Will McAvoy/Mackenzie McHale, Don Keefer/Sloan Sabbith. Charlie Skinner/Myself. (That last one was a joke. Perhaps... )
TV Shows I'm currently (as of March, 2016) watching: 'The Newsroom x 3', 'Vikings', 'Masters of Sex', 'Suits', 'Mozart in the Jungle', 'Gilmore Girls x 50 '.
Favorite Movie: 'The Aviator' (2004) -- As someone with a longstanding history of suffering from OCD as well as a longstanding history of enjoying Leonardo Dicaprio, Katharine Hepburn, period pieces and biopics, this one is a no-brainer.
Favorite Comedic Movie: 'The Breakfast Club' (1985) -- There's actually a story behind this. Cue the flashback to 2004 -- does anybody remember the song '1985' by Bowling For Soup? It was 2004, I was 13 and I was blasting this song wherever I went, even though I wasn't even born in the 80s, let alone cognizant of 1985. My mom, of course, found this both amusing and irritating. There's a line in the song--'She's seen all the classics, she knows every line--Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, even St. Elmo's Fire'. She asked me if I knew what any of those movies were, to which of course I said no. She bought me all of them for Christmas that year. The Breakfast Club was the one that stuck. Over the past decade, I have seen that movie upwards of 75 times and can recite the entire movie by heart. In fact, I do vocally recite along with the movie every time I watch it. Everyone I know hates watching this movie with me. I wonder why... *sigh*
Favorite Book: 'Tender is the Night' by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This brilliant man writes with such passion and abandon while still enacting such precision of language and dialogue... and the way he paints a mental picture... magical. Goddamn magic.
All-Time Favorite Musician: Matt Nathanson. 'Some Mad Hope' is the work of a genius. His voice is hypnotic, but what really seals the deal is the beautifully woven insight into every aspect of life that pours off his every lyric.
Current Musical Obsessions: Bleachers, AWOLNATION, Sir Sly, Night Terrors of 1927, Panama Wedding, Banks, Phidel, Bad Suns, CHVRCHES & any classical piano melody.
Current Fanfiction Stories:
Devastation & Reform: TVD S4 re-write founded upon the possibility that the blood Meredith used to change Elena was Kol's and not Damon's. This is my epic, my opus, and my baby. It may take a long time to write, but I've had this story planned out start to finish for a while now, and now all we have to do is watch it unfold. Includes whole cast of characters, but centered around Elena, Stefan & Kol, with Elejah, Kolfan & Datherine ships at the forefront.
Numb: Elena has sufficient evidence to believe that everyone she loves is dead. Taken hostage by Katherine for reasons that the older vampire will not explain, Elena has just been forced to turn and is as confused as ever. Unbeknownst to Elena, Katherine is not working of her own volition, and is unwillingly carrying out Klaus' wishes. Through a long series of revelations brought to light about Elena's adoptive parents through the memory of Meredith Fell, Damon and Stefan begin to piece together Klaus' motives. But, unable to detect the whereabouts of the doppelgangers, anything they learn is only so useful in protecting Elena from Klaus. But in the grand scheme of things, is Klaus really the one we need to be afraid of here? Katlena romantic relationship as well as a side-helping of Damon/Meredith.
Affairs of the Corrupted: Harry Potter/TVD crossover fic centered around Tom Riddle & Katherine Pierce, in 1940s post-Grindelwald defeat London. Various HP Original and Canon Characters will be prevalent, as well as all the Mikaelsons, both Salvatore brothers, Lexi & Anna.
Lethal Weapons: A medley of Damon & Katherine one-shots set in canon 1864. I'm hoping to get to 50 before I close this one out for good. It's going to take a while, though.
Chasing the Sun: Katherine seemingly gave up her undead life to conquer and murder Klaus after 500 years of running from him, just as she and Damon had begun rekindling their relationship. Thirty-five years later, Damon is in Amsterdam teaching Literature at a University, still mourning her, when it turns out she may never have died in the first place. With Katherine back in Damon's life, he demands to know one vital piece of information--how did she fake her death and why did she keep it from him? But she's not giving up that information so easily, and through a weave of flashbacks and present conversations, we'll uncover how exactly she pulled this off, and, eventually, the fate of Damon and Katherine's future.
Dust & Bones: Katherine Pierce never faked her death in 1864, and she ran away with a newly turned Damon and Stefan at her side. Stefan defected from the threesome early on, and in 1930, Damon and Katherine were found by Klaus. Making a deal with the devil, they sold their allegiance to him and agreed to work for his assassin organization, taking out threats to Klaus whenever he dictated it to keep their lives and their freedom. Fast forward to 2014, and Katherine has been looking for a way to get the upper hand and flip the tides for decades when she finds out about a young girl with her face that means a lot to someone high up in their organization. Taking the girl hostage with the intent of torturing her until the Mikaelsons fold their power, a very different outcome takes shape as Damon and Katherine learn more about this mysterious girl and find that their original plan might not hold water anymore. D/K, D/E/K, Stebekah & multi-dimensional Elejah.
Evermore: When Stefan threatened to keep Damon dessicated and locked in the family crypt for fifty years after he attacked Caroline at the Founders party, he succeeded. Dessicated and disregarded for fifty years, Damon is finally awoken by someone, but it's not Stefan. He and Katherine will face this new reality Damon is unaccustomed to, and with a vengeance against his brother that cannot be dissuaded, he will reign terror, strife and war down on this new world in a way no one could have anticipated. Bonds will be broken, forged and tested in everyone's life, and the landscape of Mystic Falls may just burn to ashes before the battle is won.
Kismetology: Currently a Gilmore Girls one-shot, but I'm pondering expanding this story into a series of one-shots detailing the post-series world that I've created. I'll keep you updated on if I execute this plan.
Upcoming Stories (Updated 2/16/2015):
(Please make note that because of the weight of the fics I currently have in the works, these might be very far off. They're ideas that will most likely be written at some point, but the timeline of that 'some point' is unknown.)
Twisted Sister: My first attempt at an AU/AH, this is going to be a stab at a dark, sinister look at a sibling relationship (Katherine & Elena) that deals with alcoholism, psychological anguish and the deep trauma of a broken family, and the two men who run parallel to the sister's lives and in whom they can find solace, guidance and companionship. Deals with pretty sensitive topics, obviously, and will be a Datherine & Stelena piece with a non-romantic Katlena center.
Bloodbound: I have this planned as my second opus, an epic adventure that unfolds when the bonding spell that Esther inflicts on the Original Family has some unforeseen complications--all the Originals have lost their memories, subsequently making it much easier for the Mystic Falls gang and Esther to destroy them. How will the Originals survive this, and will this new development evoke new relationships that muddy the clearly defined sides of the conflict? Harshly subjected to Esther's insidious plans with no way to defend themselves, who--if anyone--will step up to help them, and who will take advantage of the situation?
I hope you enjoy my stories and thanks for taking the time to read all of this. I love to hear from each and every one of you, so drop me a line if you've got the time. :)
