October 2024 I thought I'd pop in for a quick update, since it's been about a decade since I updated this page and I'm not sure I'll update again. As of next month, I joined this site 20 years ago, which is wild to me. I never stopped reading fanfic, but it's been a very long time since I uploaded my own writing. I jumped from fandom to fandom in middle school (over 20 years ago, now!) through college, pausing somewhere in grad school as I started applying my creative energy to other projects. If I start posting again, it'll be over on AO3, though I do still get notifications if you comment or DM. I wrote a lot that makes me cringe now, but I'll leave everything up as long as anyone who reads them remembers that it was all written by a silly young girl who loved theatre, period dramas, cartoons, and soap operas. I pulled a few of my favorite fics over to AO3 years ago, and you're more likely to find me there or on Tumblr than here. (And in case you knew her way back when, the girl grew up. She's doing quite well.) On "Magnetic Rag" (previously "The Van Pelt Saga") I was 11/12 when I wrote what was previously posted as "The Van Pelt Saga," and then I abandoned it for years and years. I have only vague ideas about where I was going with it. So, for the tenth anniversary of the fic/my time on this site, I decided to completely revamp it because I always had a weird fondness for it. It's now called "Magnetic Rag," and took on a black comedy sort of turn, which I swear is the easiest way to reconcile whatever the hell I was thinking when I started it in middle school with my current writing style. It's now been another 10 years since the revamp, and it's always something that I hope to pickup again. On co-writing: "Wishing Only Wounds the Heart"is a Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends fic I co-wrote with Dude13, years and years ago back when I wrote under an old penname. You can read it here. Please keep in mind that as awesome as Dude13 is, I was about 13 at the time and my portions of the story definitely show it. (He was also very kind to allow me to write with him, young and immature as I was!) |
