Author has written 2 stories for Phantom of the Opera. ~About Me~ Ack, so I suppose I should tackle this whole profile thing sooner or later, huh? I thought it would be helpful to post updates, story descriptions, blurbs about future projects, as well as a bit about myself for any interested parties. I'm a relative newcomer to the Phantom of the Opera fandom. For whatever reason I managed to not cross paths with this amazing piece of musical gold until summer 2015 (blasphemy, I know). The discovery was totally an accidental one too. The movie came on late one night, I decided to watch it and wow! Afterwards I DVRed it and literally re-watched it every night for the next two weeks. I was hooked yet so damn frustrated by the ending! Like, what?! How could Christine choose Raoul?! Not to insult the guy but... was girl for real?! Given the options of Erik vs Raoul the choice is a snap, rēs ipsa loquitur. Alas, I digress. However, writing is not my entire life - though sometimes I wish it was. I have a non-conventional job which means my schedule can quickly alternate between inundated and clear. If you haven't guessed this is the reasoning behind my inconsistent updates. Aside from typing bunches of words into a (hopefully) coherent story-line I have a decent amount of interests, many of which show up in my works, things like: backpacking, sports, sailing, cars, animals, classic literature, history, science, art, cooking, hunting, music, opera. I'm also somewhat of an artist and have been working on some illustrations to complement my stories; I'll post the appropriate information once I get to uploading them. ~Stories~ Initially I was only interested in fics that were a direct continuation of the 2004 movie. Like I said, I just wanted closure. It wasn't until I found amazing AU stories that my mind truly opened. I began seeing parallels between the characters and other books, shows, movies, plays, etc.; that's when all the ideas started to blossom. And so long as we're talking ideas... I have a fair few in the wings. But, let's first focus on the current. Once Again Complete: My very first fic. Picks up nearly two years after Christine's fateful decision. In that time she's had to adjust to a drastic change in social position, married life, high society, new relatives, and her husband's absence in face of the terrible Commune uprising. Yet despite everything happening around her there remains an emptiness that cannot be filled. So when Raoul suggests a holiday to London following the end of his naval commission she believes it is exactly what's needed, little does she know her life is about to change forever and ghosts once thought to be long buried reemerge from the void. [M rating for mature themes, violence, and sex.] *As of 17 April, Once Again Complete is being deleted. There are some formatting and errors that need to be addressed and since I'm 46 chapters in it's easier to delete and re-upload it piecemeal. Don't worry, this isn't a permanent thing! The story will be back up and updated in the near future - in addition to being much improved. Dangerous Territory: An AU, turn of the century fic featuring murderous kidnapping plots, treachery, exotic locales, and two strong-willed, impossible characters who butt heads at every turn. There's fighting (with weapons and words), adventure, snappy dialogue, sarcasm, and romance sprinkled with a hint of cross-dressing and all in the shadow of an angry volcano. Both Christine and Erik must overcome their mutual antipathy and trust one another if they're to make it home unscathed; once they scale that hurdle love is just around the corner. [M rating for language, violence, mature themes, and (of course) sex.] One last thing, my stories will pretty much always be rated M. I mean, with a couple as passionate as Erik and Christine how can they be anything less? I feel like there are different types of couple, some have a really wholesome, innocent relationship while others have that darker, bodice-ripping energy that lends itself to hot sexy times. Also I like to use adult themes and naughty words (probably more than is for my own good). ~Updates~ 10/5: So, you guys were going to get another chapter tonight but it was a long one so I split it into two ... and accidentally deleted the second half. 4000 words gone like that, so unless I find some magical way of retrieving said text it might be a while. AndNow for the stuff in the works... Some of the titles are just working titles, FYI. #To Cultivate a Rose: Based off Shaw's, My Fair Lady, this lighter, more comical AU fic takes place at the end of the Edwardian era. Christine is the street urchin, Erik the cankerous professor, and the affable Persian is the glue holding them together. Will be rated M. #Longing for Eden: An original modern AU tale. Christine is a college senior, Erik is a disillusioned and reclusive bachelor with an extremely dark past; they meet by chance on a deserted road late one night and then again under less than favorable circumstances. He agrees to become her voice teacher and soon they are battling with more than platonic feelings. All seems so simple until ghosts from Erik's tumultuous youth resurface. Will be rated a hard M. #Writings in Sand: Based off Ondaatje's novel, The English Patient and Minghella's movie adaptation of the same name; set at the dawn of WWII. Erik is a renowned desert explorer of few words whose purpose in life is his work. However, when his fellows recruit a fresh set of skills to shake up their old guard in the form of bold, young Raoul Chagny he brings with him someone who will irreversibly alter all of their fates. Will be rated M. |
