Darcy's horse casts a shoe while riding to Pemberley which causes him to miss encountering Elizabeth Bennet who is touring the estate. Thus he is unable to show her his change in behaviour, fails to learn of her improved opinion of him, fails to meet the Gardiners, and fails to learn what happens to Lydia. After Mr. Hale's passing, Margaret has to spend a week at the Thorntons while Mr. Bell arranges for her to move to London. She's uncomfortable at the idea of spending time with Mr. Thornton after everything that happened between them, and they soon find themselves in a compromising situation.

When Mr. Darcy comes to Netherfield for a short visit, Mr. and Mrs. Bingley think it wise to mind his comfort and, of course, Elizabeth's.

Elizabeth loves her job at Darcy Enterprises, a multi million dollar company with strong charitable ties, but she can't stand the man she works for. So how did she end up in his bed after the companies annual charity ball? Now edited and updated.
