Author has written 3 stories for Hamtaro, WALL-E, and My Little Pony.
Hello everyone! My name is Eric, aka Caisius. I haven't been active for the last three years, but that will change soon! I have begun re-writing my old stories to improve their quality. This will be followed by the completion of each of the two active stories. And after that? I have more plans!
Below, I will give a summary of each of my stories.
"The Field-Ham Rodon!"
A young ham by the name of "Rodon" has lost all that he has known, his friends, his family, his personal belongings... All due to a massive storm. This storm destroyed all he knew right before his eyes. He is taken in by and elderly ham named "Chavez", a chief of a village of Field Hams.
"The Field-Ham Rodon!" takes you on an epic adventure as Rodon fights his way through tough situations, such as multiple cats and other creatures, and travels to Japan to find and teach the ways of his old culture and city, "Sunflower Villa", to his unknowing brother... Hamtaro.
"A Progressive Takeover"
"A Progressive Takeover" is an attempt to create a "Pixar-worthy" sequel to the masterpiece known as "WALL-E." The original plot was shown to a few people and they all agreed that it would make a perfect sequel to the movie. This story right here is that original plot, with unique twists.. Something that would probably not be the best for a movie... but who knows.. right?
"A Progressive Takeover" takes you on an adventure that is unique and 'touching'. It all begins with a dream... a dream that replayed a bit of history that nearly took the love away from the two bots. Dr. Dilarious, a very old scientist, and the only human alive to has been aware of his surroundings for his whole life, might have the answer for this dream.. But will he help? Or will he use this to his advantage..
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Fanfictions:
"MLP: A Cherished Storm"
When strangers from distant lands invade Equestria in search of land and power, the ponies are put through obstacles and experiences that they've never been through before. Rainbow Dash and her friends must save the land, and their lives, from destruction. And Rainbow Dash must discover a new meaning and purpose for her life.
Rated T for later chapters.
(Only ten entries to the update news will be stored at a time.)
A little while ago, I had submitted "A Cherished Storm" to Equestria Daily in an attempt to have it posted for more readers to see.I had been through quite a journey to get it done, including a month or more of trying to have someone draw the cover art for the story, before finally deciding to handle it myself. I submitted once and it never reached them. A few weeks later, I submitted again after fixing minor grammar mistakes in multiple chapters. At long last I've finally received the email from Equestria Daily regarding my story... It wasn't what I was hoping.
There were three major mistakes in the story, starting in Chapter one alone:
1. Show vs. tell. Example: "Dash did this, Fluttershy did this, AJ did that"
The third issue, I assume, is caused by the first two issues... So fixing the first two would hopefully make the story more exciting for the readers. These issues, they said, are systemic, which means that, most likely, the problem is spread across every chapter. And sadly, I fear the problems are so great that the only way to effectively solve the problems is to completely rewrite the story without these issues.
So, starting verysoon, I'll begin rewriting the story and replacing the existing chapters with them. I wish I didn't have to do this, but I want this story to be all that it can possibly be. Don't worry, though. If you've read the chapters, and you don't want to go back and reread everything, that's fine. I don't plan on changing the story. There may be variations in the dialogue... But the plot will remain the same.
I know I can better this story... with help. So I ask: If there is anyone out there that is a skilled proof reader, and knows how to spot these issues, I would be extremely appreciative if you'd be willing to lend me a hoof while the story goes through this change.
I'd like to thank Noble Cause of the EqD pre-readers for taking the time to suggest ways to improve my story. I am an aspiring author and wish to better myself as a writer in whatever ways I can. I have read the entire Editor's Omnibus and will reference it frequently as I go through the rewriting process.
One Final Note: I know that this process will take weeks to fix, if not a month or more... But don't worry! I haven't forgotten that I've left everyone at a pretty big cliff hanger with Chapter eight. So my first priority is to get chapter nine out. It's half written as of now, but I'll have to rewrite it to fix it, as it suffers the same problems as the rest of the story. Once I've done that, I will have a more experienced proof reader take a look at it and fix whatever issues there are, before finally releasing. I am extremely sorry for the delay of this chapter!
That's about it! Thanks to all my readers and those who follow the story. This is a bumpy road right now for it, but it'll come through and be a much better story as a result. I promise!
I was going to have Chapter Four out today, but I'm not quite done editing it yet. I'll have it released tomorrow (4/15/12) for sure for everyone! :)
Firstly, "A Progressive Takeover" is on hiatus right now. I lost all of my notes for the story, and I lost most inspiration to continue the story anytime soon. Eventually, I will get a new set of notes together, and I'll try to salvage it.. But for now, I won't be updating it.
I have, however, been working on a new story. A few months ago, I became a brony. Now, I'm proud to be one, but I don't know how any of my fans would feel about it... I have started a new story, called, "MLP: A Cherished Storm," and have been posting the chapters on fimfiction.net. I will be posting them on this site within the week, releasing chapters bi-weekly until it's caught up with the current releases. I hope that there are a at least a few MLP fans out there that would enjoy these.
That's the update! I have not abandoned the WALL-E fanfic.. I'm just not inspired to write more right now, since the notes incident.
Chapter five of "A Progressive Takeover" is out now!
This is a major milestone for me and for the story. Not only is it chapter five, but it's also the point that the original version of this story never reached. It was updated to chapter four and that was all.
With chapter five out of the way now, I would like to celebrate by removing the old version of the story. Therefore, as of the time of this posting, the outdated version of "A Progressive Takeover" will be removed.
I have plans for where to go from now, some of which I mentioned in my last update. So stay tuned for that!
With that, enjoy the story
So.. I could try to come up with excuses as to why I have yet to bring out the next chapter of "A Progressive Takeover," but I won't. The main reason is because of a combination of video games and laziness, mixed in with a little bit of writer's block.
I couldn't decide what to do with the next chapter. I had it planned out but then realized there were parts that were not satisfactory to what I wanted, so I redid a majority of WALL-E's scenes. EVE's scenes were fine in the planning phase, but once in writing, I realized the difficulty of focusing on her when she is just flying. I tried to make it interesting, and I don't know how well I did.. I'm not 100% happy with it right now.
As a whole, the chapter is not complete, but it coming close. It is a much larger chapter than anything I've ever written and I can only hope the length is not added boredom.
I'll be releasing the chapter soon (not set date yet.. Could be tomorrow, could be next week..) and I hope it will be worth the wait!
On another note, aside from what I've said above, I have been busy with planning new projects.. Secret projects. Back in late 2006, I played a certain Zelda game that I fell in love with. And I loved the ending... Except for a certain fact that it really didn't seem like a happy ending. It was appropriate, but I wanted more to the story. In early 2007, around January or February, I began to think of a way to write my own sequel to the Zelda game.. It's been in hiatus for nearly five years now.. I want to work on it. It's been in the back of my mind for a long time, and I want to start work on it. I'm not going to stop working on "A Progressive Takeover" as it is still a story I care about. But I will be working on my "sequel" story to The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The working title so far is "Fallen Twilight."
Also, to go with the release of the first chapter of my Zelda fanfic, I have something special planned. :) I hope any of the few fans that I do have enjoyed Zelda, especially Twilight Princess, because I'm excited for this one!
One trip to an amusement park later.. My feet hurt, I'm tired, and I had fun. I worked on reworking the plot for the next chapter. I wasn't fully happy with what I came up with before. I'm having a hard time deciding what to do with WALL-E's plot, I know some of it, but don't really know how to make it very interesting. I want the next few chapters to bring WALL-E into it a lot more, since the story so far has been about EVE mostly. In any case, I make take a break from WALL-E's plot and actually write EVE's part, since it's done.
There wasn't much I could do with EVE's plot, she's mainly flying.. Hard to make that interesting. I have some ideas to get away from the boring flying parts, though.. So hopefully it turns out well.
Chapter Five for "A Progressive Takeover" is now planned. It's going to be a long one I think. Can't tell until I actually write it, but by the looks of it.. It's going to be a very big one. We'll see when it's written, though.
A couple more weeks of delay and it's finally out! "Chapter Four: To The Rivalry!" is finally released for "A Progressive Takeover." It's smaller than the other chapters, and I apologize, but I didn't want to needlessly drag it out. Hopefully chapter five will be quicker! Not making promises though.
Anyway, please enjoy!
Chapter four of "A Progressive Takeover" will be delayed by one more week. I'm sorry for the delays, I've just been really busy lately with things..
Chapter four of "A Progressive Takeover" will be delayed by at least one week due to real-life things. If it's not out by next week (7/7/11), then it will be out by the following Thursday (7/14/11)I apologize for the delays, especially after I had said in the A/N of Chapter Three that I was on a roll for getting them out every Thursday. Oh well... Things happen.
