Author has written 1 story for SWAT Kats.

Hi, there!

Thanks for checking out my profile.

As I've created my FanFiction account mainly to publish my SWAT Kats story War Games, I think it's probably best if I explain a bit how I got aware of the show and the influences that made me start writing this story in the first place.

The first time I saw SWAT Kats was around 1995 on Cartoon Network UK. Back then I was 16 years old and watched a lot of cartoons there because I thought it would be a good way to practice my English. If I hadn't, this series probably would have never caught my attention because it was never aired in German television as far as I know.

I think I got so excited about the show because it's about cats... I mean kats... combined with a lot of action, cheap jokes and crazy stories that I could never take seriously. Besides the essential role that cats play in my life I think it's thanks to their voice actors that I liked T-Bone and Razor so much.
But as time passes by and life goes on, I've turned my attention to other things and so I forgot about them for almost 20 years.

They came back into my mind in spring 2014 when I was thinking about a concept for a relatively simple action game for mobile devices in which the player flies around in a helicopter. Maybe the catchphrase "I need chopper backup!" was triggered somewhere in my memory through this, but this is just a wild guess.

So I became curious about what has happened to the show and started searching the web. This way I came across the DVD collection and so I thought "Why not?" and bought it. When I started watching, it hit me like it did 20 years ago. Probably even harder, because I started getting obsessed with it for reasons I cannot explain, even to myself. So I got my hands on the SNES game and played it through. Furthermore, I've continued my search on the web, read the discussions about the shows cancellation and some old interviews. In one of them drone warfare was mentioned.

All of this (the show, the game and the mentioning of drone warfare) triggered a series of weird associations in my head which resulted in writing War Games which went online in July 2015 as an illustrated fan fiction story at wargames. swatkats. info (remove the dots after you've copied this link into the address bar of your browser).

In November 2015 I've decided to publish it here too, because I have the feeling that some potentially interested readers might miss it otherwise as they aren't looking for a stand-alone website.

If you want to know more about the creation process of the story you can check this post in the MegakatCity forums: megakatcity. com/viewtopic. php?f=19&t=354

Another thing I can tell you about me is that I've participated as a backer in the Kickstarter campaign. I'm very curious what the Tremblay Brothers have planned for SWAT Kats - Revolution and I keep my fingers crossed that they going to be successful in reviving the show.

War Games (text-only version) reviews
Matthew Doubt, a very talented game developer in Megakat City, has created a powerful artificial intelligence system for his new game. Unfortunately, his code gets stolen and drones start to attack the city soon after. Once again, Megakat City is in desperate need for the SWAT Kats to set things straight.
