Author has written 2 stories for Avengers.
Hallo, all! Or, at least, hello to whomever is interested enough to be reading my profile. I am a Freshman at Texas State University, though I normally reside in Austin. Don't even start on the cowboy jokes- I've never ridden a horse in my life. Nor do I own a cowboy hat. My friends and I have a joke that goes, "the only time you wear a cowboy hat is while at the rodeo or having sex." And it's pretty much true, unless you actually do work on a ranch, in which case you aren't wearing some rhinestone-studded thing atop your head. Tourists are pretty creepy in the way they dress.
Anywho, I plan on becoming a forensic anthropologist, by getting my undergrad here at Texas State and then (hopefully!) my graduate at University of Tennessee. I've entertained anthropology since the fourth grade, and a couple years ago decided on a degree with an emphasis in forensic anthropology (I had originally considered cultural anthropology). Because of my career choice, you can imagine how excited I was when I discovered the TV show Bones. Thankfully I already knew about the career beforehand so I don't have heavily romanticized nor glamorous expectations about how it's going to be. I took Anatomy and Physiology last year in high school, so it's fun when I can understand what the characters on any crime show are talking about. And I can put a skeleton in anatomical order! I do kind of guess when it comes to the ribs, though. College will change that :P
I was able to vote last year! All of my friends were so jealous- Early voting was held right in our school's performing arts center, so I was able to vote during my off period. Pretty cool, huh? Most people here in Austin are democratic, so when I got to school on the 5th everybody was parading (literally parading) around chanting and screaming and crying for joy that Obama was elected president. It was such an ecstatic day for everyone! Plus everyone was covered in Obama/Biden stickers. Did anyone else listen to McCain's concession speech? I was truly moved by it, and I really respect him as a person, even though I didn't give him my vote. I think that if McCain had been the person we saw then for the entire race, that he could have really become president. Well, that and if he hadn't chosen Palin for vice-prez. You might be surprised that I'm so into politics, but the youth in Austin, even the ones unable to vote, are really active and outspoken in their views, and it's great to be able to have an amiable discussion amongst Republicans, Green, Libertarians and Democrats alike. Every conversation it seems since the race began included political discussion, and we were all able to weigh the pros and cons of each candidate. Am I rambling? Perhaps I should stop. Anyway, I just want to say that the younger generation isn't as apathetic and uninvolved as people like to think, and also I encourage anyone able to vote to become active in their communities, not just in voting for our nation's next president, but even things as simple as city council or the building of bike trails (this latter is a bit of an issue here, actually). Get involved, people; make this world the place you want it to be!
The Avengers: Steed/Mrs. Peel forever! However, if there were any Steed/Cathy fanfics I would certainly be interested enough to read them. As it is, there is not a single fanfic on this site with that particular pairing-- perhaps I should rectify the fact? Sorry if my liking Mrs. Gale seems a betrayal to the traditional Steed/Mrs. Peel pairing, but... well... I don't know. Once you get used to her, she grows on you pretty quickly. I think I might actually have a crush on her xP I want to warn, thoughy, that the change from Mrs. Peel to Mrs. Gale is less of a shock than the change in Steed's personality. He wasn't always so gentlemanly! Charming, yes...
Bones: Brennan/Booth, of course. However, I'm also partial to Bones/Zac and Cam/Zac.
Chuck: Chuck/Sarah. I found the Chuck/Casey kiss amusing, though. I'm sure those shippers pretty much swooned when they saw that.
Harry Potter: Harry/Hermione. The whole Ron/Hermione angle never even occurred to me until other people mentioned it. I always felt that Harry and Hermione had more of a connection than the latter.
House M.D.: There are two pairings that I ship avidly: Hameron and Camteen! They're both to die for, in my opinion. My only woe is that in the actual series, Thirteen has yet to actually express any partiality for Cameron. That makes me sad, because honestly they're pretty indifferent toward each other. But I still have high hopes for the future! Also, despite what one might think, I don't resent Chase in the least. I like his perceptiveness, and feel that he's really grown since House fired him.
Law and Order: Special Victims Unit: Olivia/Elliot. Has anyone else heard the rumor about how they might get together this season?
Lie to Me: Foster/Lightman. Fostman? Anyway, yeah. :P
NCIS: Kate/Gibbs for the most part. But really, all of the characters on the show have such chemistry with each other that I also read Abby/Gibbs, Kate/Tony, Ziva/Tony and McGee/Abby.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Ummm, a little odd here. I only ever read Sparrabeth, yet I believe that things ought to turn out Willabeth. I guess it's because I feel that even though there is that sexual tension between Elizabeth and Jack, it's Elizabeth and Will that are meant to be together. Plus, pirate smut is more fun to read than sappy romance :D Hee hee.
X-Files: I believe in Scully/Mulder! I have to admit, though, I was kind of disappointed by the new movie. Oh well.
