Author has written 14 stories for Harry Potter.
There is something about fanfiction that keeps on drawing me back in, it's this other world that I and thousands of others can get lost in. It welcomes you back with the exploits of characters who you have grown up with, who you feel like you can relate to, or who you feel a strange sort of friendship with. You know these tales inside out, and any new story is one that you jump at. I love fanfiction, I will always love it I think, and if I love your story, sure as hell I'll be back to read it again and again.
Unfortunately for me, real life got in the way of my Harry Potter life. I was an avid HP fan fiction reader and writer for a long time. I could spend hours upon hours just trawling through the new stories or re-reading some old classics. I don't write anymore, the juices have definitely stopped flowing, but every so often I come back to see what's going on and to get my fix from my favourite pairing D/G from my favourites list.
At the time I prefered writing one shots because I couldn't deal with the pressure of writing a full length story, I have never been very good at the whole planning side to essays, so why I thought it would be different for fiction, who knows!? Also I started to hate the story, a bit too much real life teenage angst in it and I cringe so much reading it now. Although it seems like I cannot do it, I really admire those writers that have the ability to carry on with a fantastic story and see it through till the story is finished.
Some of the best stories are the ones with the smallest number of reviews. Yes, I know there are some stories that go into the hundreds range that are wonderful, but there are also the little beauties that haven't been found by the masses yet. I love them but I just wish other people did too!
Every year or so I will update my favourite story at the moment so stay tuned!!
January : Polyjuice Potion by Davesmom - Makes me so happy after I finish reading it. Some good old D/G goodness
I may not class myself as an 'author' (a poor attempt of one, at that) but everyone loves feedback, whether you hated it or loved it, we want to know.
