My Blog:..it's fairly new and will replace my Live Journal. I'll keep it strictly Writing Only, but that includes fanfiction, original fiction, and general writing stuff.
Also, here is myI'm not that active, but you can follow me anyway :)
Mywhere I might be relocating and using FFnet as an archive. FFnet seems to have gone downhill in terms of consistency with how they handle cyber bullying and harassment compared to removing stories that violate their ratings. They'll remove the stories, but not the person who bullies others and spams racist propaganda and bigotry. If this trend keeps up, I suspect this site will be a ghost town in a few years - or at the very least, not king of the hill anymore.
On AO3 you can at least delete unwanted reviews, and they have a staff that actually does something about flamers. So far, FFnet remains the only site where authors still have no control over signed reviews - and no, a signed review does not equal "legitimacy". Trolls and flamers use this feature to their advantage.
I actually got a
My, if you want to see what I look like, and snoop through details of my sordid life. I don't post much. It's only to really keep track of wayward family members and old High School pals.
Writing wise...I've been at it a while. Taught myself and studied it for years. Experimented, played around with some styles - decided my current one suits me best. A bit of abstract, a bit of poetry, and emphasis on emotions and sensory details. Sometimes I let the more spiritual side of me sneak in, some concepts/themes that are mystical and numinous. Not a huge "tech" writer. It's one of my weaknesses. Dialogue used to be, but I think I'm getting the hang of it now.
My stories tend to be on the darker side: plenty of sex, blood, violence when it serves the plot or shapes the characters. I prefer slash to het unless intrigued by the pairing. Plot devices are fun, and putting canon characters in situations they have never faced before. I tend to favor AU - more wiggle room, but I always keep the canon accurate when possible.
Most of my stuff is WIP: I tend to write/update stories when inspired and encouraged. Keep in mind I have two jobs and a hectic life. Sometimes my updates will be sporadic.
Biggest inspirational authors to me: Stephen King, Patricia McKillip, Richard Morgan, Janet Fitch, and Donna Tartt
Disclaimer for all fanfic:
No matter what fandom I write in, all characters not my own belong to their respective owners.
All situations depicted in my stories are fictitious, and any similarities to persons living or dead is purely circumstantial...I hope.
Note: I will not be critiquing or reviewing any fanfiction, except in rare cases. This is due to the casual nature of fanfic, and my ever dwindling free time. Any writer serious about improving their craft should check out
