Okies. Time to update the bio:
(Last Updated: December 29, 2012)
Anyway, I thought I ought to put in some sort of note about my fics, since it's been a while since some of my WIPs got an update.
Firstly, All at Once is NOT abandoned. I know it's been a really long time since I wrote a chapter for it, but I have to work on the stories for which my musebunnies are screaming the loudest. Right now, AaO is not screaming at all. I will come back to it once some of my other projects have been finished.
The Goth... is currently on 'hold', as is 'Shades...'. I'll get back to them when their respective muses return. No, I've no idea how long that's going to take.
Considering my profile page was getting to be on the long side, I decided it was time to pare it down some.
As far as All at Once is concerned, I tend to work on it when none of my other musebunnies are screaming for attention; so this means I have no idea how long it's going to be before another update - but I can assure you it has not been abandoned.
Lastly, Redefining Perceptions of Reality, barring any odd surprises, is rapidly coming to a conclusion. Barring any curveballs thrown to me by the muse, I foresee it having about five more chapters or so (however, muses have surprised me before, so it is very possible it might go longer than that).
Considering I now actually have entire universes in which to play, I thought a list might be necessary. Both are Supernatural/Harry Potter crossover 'verses (just in case you missed the memo).
1, 2, 3 'Verse
Once is Happenstance - complete, see summary below.
Twice is Circumstance - complete, see summary below.
Three Times is Enemy Action - on 'pause' for the time-being. I'm having issues getting the disparate bits of mythology I'm using to congeal into a plausible whole. Hopefully, things will start making sense soon. (But like I said above, I work on whatever story the muse-bunnies are screaming loudest about.)
Run For Your Life - is a WIP, but I think y'all will be happy to learn that I think I've finally figured out how and where to end this particular installment for this 'verse (even if I'm not sure how many chapters it will take).
Ripple Effect - takes place after chapter two of 'RFYL', so if you want to read things chronologically, you'll know where to put it.
Caleb Forrester - can be considered either part of my greater 'RFYL' 'verse, or it can be read as a stand-alone in solely the SPN-fandom.
Animals - currently planned (another flashback sideplot, this one taking place when Dean's a teenager).
Opposable Thumbs are Awesome - currently planned (another flashback sideplot, this one takes place at the same time as 'Ripple Effect').
General Info About Me:
I love reviews. I practically live off them. I love getting feedback on the twisted imaginings of my brain.
My birthday is July 1, 1982.
My favorites include: Harry Potter, pepperoni-pineapple-black-olive-green-pepper-onion-jalapeno pizza, caffeine, Stephen King's The Stand, Camel Turkish Royal cigarettes, the colors silver and purple and black, System of a Down (specifically Aeriels off the Toxicity album), zombie movies, CBS' NCIS, and the CW's Supernatural.
I try to research anything I don't know for sure, just to make things in my stories a bit more believable, but Google hates me. I don't know how or why a search engine can hate me, but it does. I can do a search for something and wind up with the weirdest freakin' links, while someone else can do the exact same search and come back with precisely the information I was looking for - it's rather maddening. So, if you manage to spot any errors in the facts of my writing, please suspend disbelief until the end of the story/chapter; then send me a review, email, or PM to let me know what I have wrong, as well as what your source of information is. (And when did this site get rid of the option to email a fellow member? Anyway, my email is my ffn username dot westlake at yahoo - please don't spam me - and make sure you spell it correctly, and with no capital letters at all.)
Favorite Fanfic Quote (it's from "An Army of Snapes" over at RS-dot-org, and is by Ladyofthemasque):
Did chocolate frogs dream of marshmallow sheep?
Favorite Fanfic Paragraph (it's from "The Toaster Incident" - which is archived somewhere on here, I think, though I found it over at LJ first - and is by CaffieneKitty):
If it was a weapon, he'd have had it figured out in five minutes, tops. John pondered the idea. Would approaching the toaster as though it was a weapon help? Maybe the bread was the wrong calibre. Maybe the toaster had a switch to take it off full auto. John picked up the toaster, looked at the bottom. No switches of any kind, except the crumb tray release. Not going there again.
Overall Favorite Fanfic (on this site):
Soul Deep by Xanthe2 - an NCIS AU fic borrowing heavily from Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials series (it's not quite a crossover, but close), which explains a slash relationship between Tony and Gibbs in what is probably the most original manner I've come across.
