Thought I'd give this an update as the last time I did I was 21 and it was 2013. Oops.

My name is Erin. I am (as of February 2023) 31.

Housewife, Mother, eye toward tradition and stories that honor my convictions.

In the HP fandom, I pretty much exclusively ship SS/HG, though I do have a few stories I'm writing where I’ve paired Severus with an OC, and only because it occurs far too early for Snamione to be feasible or in any way appropriate.

Many things in the works, though Dead Souls is on permanent hiatus, until I either finish my other (better) projects, or get a wild hair tickling me to go back and read Nikolai Gogol once more.

I'm working on several Snamione stories, a couple of early Snape stories, and the much requested sequel to Grease & Lightning (as of this update, I'm working on chapter 19. It is significantly longer than the original already).

I also, after a rather long absence, just got back into reading Phantom of the Opera fanfiction. I remember when the movie came out in 2004 I quickly delved into that fandom and read both Leroux’s and Kay’s books in the later years of highschool. I never thought I’d be able to write well enough to craft my own Phantom story, but now, nearly sixteen years later, I’ve dipped my toe into my own Erik-centric fic.

As for the POTO universe, my preferred version of Erik is a mix of Leroux and Kay. Of course I can appreciate Butler’s version (and my husband and I were gifted tickets to see the stage version early on while we were dating), but I have an enormous soft-spot for the noseless wonder who speaks of himself in the third person and is little more than a glorified man-child.

I am categorically incapable of enjoying him paired with Christine, however (in the same way that I am categorically incapable of enjoying Snape with Lily. I don’t like to see my poor sad boys with the women who rejected them and were incapable of loving them for who they are). I think I got my start reading him with Meg but have found that the OC pairings tend to suit much better.
