Is there anyone reading this out there? (Looks around hopefully). If there is, here’s a lil’ info about myself. Not that anyone should care to know; but what the heck. I’m bored!
Some people don’t like to tell their names but I actually like mine, so here it is. –SHANTAL ;o) there you go – Ta-Da! And yes I am a GIRL.
Weight: 125 pounds.
Hair: Long and curly, light brown with blond highlights.
Skin: Fair, light tan, thanks to (the tanning station salon, whatever would I do without it?)
I’m from the Dominican Republic but I’ve been living in the United States ( Pennsylvania) for a little more than a year now.
Writing (duhh), Reading (duhh), Break dancing (surprise!) – Yeah! I’ve been breakdancing since I’m twelve. I’m actually really good at it too. Dancing is my passion, and it has been since… I can’t even remember. I started out with Ballet- BORING!- no offence to all of those Ballet lovers out there. Then I took up some tap dancing lessons, and then I discovered Breakdancing- I love the fact that breakdancing is improvised, never learned. Breakdancing is freer, more pumped-up and less controlled than any other dancing style there is, that’s why it’s my favorite.
I’m also a cheerleader, not the perky type though --yeah it is possible to be a cheerleader without being perky, you know:o( -- GO COUGARS!
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
Active member of the Ski club, The Key club, and The Volleyball team. All of these are clubs from my school. But the activity that takes most of my time is -- Babysitting… Yeah! – I take care of my lil’ nephew Robert from time to time. He’s such an adorable baby (as long as he’s sleeping of course).
WOW! This is a hard one. I don’t have one favorite movie, so I’m just going to mention some of the ones I like the most.
-Underworld / Undeworld Evolution
-Bring it on
-The Matrix –trilogy
-Pirates Of The Caribbean
-Pitch Black/ Riddick
-American Pie / American Wedding

Those are the only ones that I remember. That must mean they’re my favorites. Right?

Gabriel Garcia Marquez -- Believed by many to be one of the world’s greatest writers, he’s a Colombian-born author and journalist, winner of the 1982 Nobel Prize for Literature and a pioneer of the Latin American “Boom.” He first won international fame with his masterpiece, One Hundred Years of Solitude, a defining classic of twentieth century literature.
One Hundred Years of Solitude - Published in 1967 Cien Años De Soledad. In essence, the novel paints the picture of an enduring family living in a South American town called Macondo, a mysterious place where every day brings its inhabitants a share of wonder, magic, grief, sorrow, and almost magical opportunities for transformation. The book picks up the Buendía family from its establishment by an eccentric patriarch and a tenacious matriarch, and tracks their descendants through the family’s rise, fall, and decay.
Love and other Demons - Published in 1994 as Del amor y otros demonios, this haunting novel reads like a lost chapter of One Hundred Years of Solitude. Set in a colonial seaport in mythic South America, the novel tells the tale of a strange girl named Sierva María, a girl who may or may not have contracted rabies. Sent to aid her is a young priest, the intellectual and dreamy Father Cayetano Delaura. Rather than find her in need of exorcism, Father Delaura discovers that it is himself that is in need of healing, for he begins to fall in love with this enchanting and eccentric girl.
Memories of My Melancholy Whores. – Memoria de mis putas tristes is the story of this eccentric, solitary old man, a narrative of his sexual adventures (of which there were many), for which he always paid, never imagining that this would be the way he would discover true love.
