Author has written 3 stories for Hobbit, and Jupiter Ascending. Hello! I am ExperimentalNotion. Like many of you, I come to FF.N because I can't get enough of the stories I love! I love happy endings, and character development, and spelling, and feels. I love unlikely couples (Zutara, Dramione, SessKag, etc) and the heroines in my stories have a tendency to sit down and analyze the information around them, cut to the heart of the matter, and then use the power and persuasion at their disposal to make changes to improve the lives around them. My first fanfics were written years ago, and were so horrible that I've never logged back onto that account. But after reading a flood of Hobbit fics (most of them with TRULY inconceivable or ridiculous premises to fixit), I was so disgusted with the time-travel options that I said, "There is no single WORSE option for time travel than the one I just read! The only thing more ridiculous would be if Bilbo was eaten by a time-travelling sea serpent!" Then I sat and thought about that. That sounded pretty unique. And it was just as ridiculous as the idea of time travel, so it seemed to fit. All that was left was to sit down and write the story. That was back in 2016. I got all the way to Chapter 46 or so before I totally lost inspiration. I wrote a cliffhanger and let it sit for months, before writing a few cop-out closing chapters just to clear my conscience. But the ending has always bothered me. In November 2018, I was reading a Hobbit fanfiction and something inspired me to look up my old story. I was shocked to see the number of reviews, favorites, follows, and communities - shocked and pleased. I re-read it myself, from chapter 1 to the then-ending chapter 50. And the ending was so unsatisfying! I immediately logged back on and began to write. I went back through several chapters and tore them to bits, and re-wrote them entirely. After I'd fixed chapters 40 - 50, I was finally able to keep writing and continue the story. I've loved writing this story, and connecting to reviewers and readers who are enjoying my work and responding to my personal authors notes. It's incredible. As for the other snippets that I've written, they were created in my quest to right wrongs, solve problems, and negotiate peace. When in doubt, my characters sit and consider the facts. |
