Author has written 7 stories for Metroid, and Mass Effect.
Resident of Detroit, MI.
I happily describe myself as an all-round geek, with interests including anime (notably Ghost in the Shell in all its incarnations), military SF (Battlestar Galactica and Stargate SG-1 top the list there), and video games (which you probably figured out by glancing through my 'stories authored' list). In my free time (snicker), I enjoy cooking and gardening, as well as just about all of the outdoor pursuits - hiking and camping, fishing, hunting, target sports, etc. In the musical department, I'll listen to just about anything, but I have particular soft spots for jazz, electronic/techno, and soundtracks.
As most of my writing features both military themes and medical science, I am frequently asked if I'm either a medical professional or a serviceperson. The answer is yes and no. I'm an RN with specialties in emergency and critical care, and though I currently have no military experience, I have several friends and family in the armed forces.
Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy!
Stumbling Toward Elysia. Set during the events of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. A look at what might have transpired between two of the galaxy's most famous bounty hunters in the years before the Phaaze Incident.
Greensleeves. A one-shot in the "Special Effects" universe. Eight years after the events of Mass Effect, Captain Jane Shepard returns home from her mission against the Reapers to discover several large surprises, and one very small one.
Aftereffects. One-shot, set during the events of Mass Effect 2. In a dark and grim universe, fighting for the lost starts with yourself.
Electronic Intelligence. Post-Metroid Fusion. First in the Intelligence Trilogy. When the Federation authorities condemn Adam to deletion for his role in the B.S.L. Incident, Samus enlists the help of a young researcher to save him. Sinister purposes abound, though, as Adam's construct holds dangerous secrets - secrets worth killing for.
Works in Progress:
Special Effects. A series of humorous one-shots set in the Mass Effect universe. In which Jane Shepard, her motley crew, and one very flamboyant Mako save the universe from boredom.
Special Effects: CGI. The next generation of "Special Effects." Having defeated the Reapers, Shepard takes on a new, and perhaps more difficult challenge: parenthood.
The Kaleidoscope Affair. Previously titled "Dial M for Metroids," the second story in the Intelligence Trilogy. The crew of the Hunter III are recalled from probation to handle an assassination threat against the Prime Minister of the Federation. Meanwhile, dead bodies begin turning up in the Federation's capital city - bodies that have been completely drained of energy...
None at the moment.
Updates and Information:
4/11: New CGI... "In Which Prioris Does St. Elsewhere Backwards." It's not easy reconciling a warm, fuzzy universe like CGI with the GRIMDARK of the canon Mass Effect universe, but you now have in your digital hands my best attempt at a happy union between the two. (Hint: the point of commonality is a High EMS Destroy finale...)
Another Kaleidoscope chapter is next on the docket, as is an idea I've been kicking around for something completely different in the realm of Dragon Age. Varric Tethras made himself a small fortune writing about the adventures of a hard-bitten Kirkwall city guard... so why not a fanfic writer making absolutely nothing writing about the adventures of the rest of the civil service? After all, with half a dozen deadly fights befalling the Warden/Hawke/Inquisitor on a daily basis, someone has to put out the magical fires and haul the miscreants to the healer's clinic...
Stay tuned for more!
