Author has written 3 stories for Artemis Fowl, Scrubs, and Star Trek: 2009.
Hello! This is StoryShark2005's page. Please enjoy while you're here. However, it's kind of boring. Here's a little about myself. I'm a 20 year old who loves to read and watch movies, and enjoys the outdoors.
I have a FictionPress account, Artemis-the-Hunter, but nothing is really up there. Maybe sometime soon though...
Are you from Kansas, or near Kansas City? Join LiveJournal's kcmo_gqmf group for a local star trek meetup group. Friendly people who love Star Trek.
Broken- CHAPTER SEVEN IS UP, Y'ALL!
Gimme Shelter- coming along slowly...don't worry I'm still writing, its just Star Trek has been REALLY distracting lately...mmm Captian Fine...
Bend with the Wind- Thinking this will stay a 2-shot. Unless I get inspired.
Currently into? Star Trek. Heroes. Most recently watched Heroes season 4, and because of the episode 'The Wall', ...well...needless to say Pylar is now a part of my fandom life. Those two were always sort of in the back of my mind like, 'Oh, they're both hot. That'd be kind of cool...' but I was never a huge fan of the show and never even bothered to read Heroes fanfic. NOW, however...I mean come on. They spent like FIVE YEARS ALONE together. With absolutely nobody else...really, Tim Kring?
Aaand most recently? SUPERNATURAL. Yeah, thank you theplanetmary... Dean and Sammy, OH you boys :)
Star Trek TOS and ST2009- Jim/Spock. This is the first slash pairing I ever got into, and its probably my OTP. Like, of all time. With Jim and Spock, its really nothing physical that needs to be described. Their friendship is the greatest in movie or TV history. It transcends race, sex, family, or any other normal relationship. They would travel the far ends of the universe for eachother, and die for eachother without hesitation. Kirk loses his son, his ship, and almost his career to save Spock's life. Spock did die for Jim and the crew.
ACTUALLY what got me into this fandom, and the first slash pairing I ever read was Scrubs. I think after Brokeback Mountain, I was kind of suprised at myself, I saw it and was like 'Wow. That was kind of hot'. And then cautiously began to click on slash stories that I had previously avoided like the plague. 'EWW. BOYS KISSING.' I watched Scrubs all the time, and one episode, I said to myself. 'Man. I bet there's a TON of JD/Cox slash. Andd...yeah. So I got into that but actually I wasn't a HUGE huge fan of the pairing. I actually preferred pairing up everybody all over the place, like Ellliot/Cox and JD/Jordan.
So I suppose K/S wasn't really the first slash pairing I ever read. Anywho, this was all before I'd seen the new movie. I was a Trek fan of Voyager, and (as ashamed as I am to say), I'd never seen the Original Series. But I went because it was Star Trek and I might as well just go see it...OH GOOD LORD. That movie...GUH. You all know. Anywho, so I'd seen the movie. I wasn't immediately a K/S fan. I originally looked up some Trek fic because a Scrubs JDox writer, whom I'd had on update, wrote a Trek09 story. So I was like, 'Interesting. I'll try it.'...and...here we are.
McCoy is just plain fun. DeForest Kelley's preformance is classic, and Karl Urban's reboot is a tribute. 'Dammit Jim! I'm a doctor, not a moon shuttle conductor!' is one of my favorite quotes. Bones reminds us, in a futuristic world, of the true, raw human spirit, and a past that we would all reminice to. He's the 'old country doctor'. He's divorced, a drunk, loves his daughter beyond words, and is loyal to his friends to the point of deepest love. He completes Spock and Kirk, adding a flawed side to Jim and a passionate fiercness to Spock. The Bones/Kirk/Spock friendship is simply fantastic, and I love reading their personalities bounce off one another. The Deep South stays alive in Bones, mint julips and southern belles. I love 'im.
Harry Potter- What I read inbetween fandom obsessions. There's SO much fic in this fandom. Everybody and their mom writes.
Tom/Hermione, Cedric/Hermione , George/Katie (katie from katijane's universe. she's made her into an entirely 3D character with a universe of her own. check it out.)
As for my favorite character to analyze in the HP Universe, Tom Riddle, there are some really great stories out there. Maybe 'Have You Ever' is a little forgiving of some of Tom's traits, but believe me, you won't regret reading it. Probably the most true to Tom's character story I've read is sugargrazed's 'Riddle's War'. He (or she) has really done their homework on Tom's character and personality. It's really fantastic.
Ced/Hermione? This was kind of a phase- ever since Twilight, I've kind of gotten tired of seeing Robert Pattison's face plastered on tshirts. Not that its his fault, but it kind of ruined the pairing for me. HOWEVER, that dosn't diminish the work that's already been done. Seriously, check out koalabear...her Ced/Hermione stories are fantastic. Wonderfully well-written. Her 'Boy who died' and AU series are awesome.
katie.jane also wrote 'Deception' which is another Ced/Hermione fic. Its really great too. But my favorite story from her is...(keep reading)
As for George/Katie, check out 'Live, Laugh, Love, Let Go' by confessions.of.katie.jane. Katie's character is so unbelievaly real (I know, oxymoron), and it's one of the most down to earth, honest reads on ff.net.
'Welcome to Hogwarts, 1949' is just plain good. NO PAIRINGS, which actually is quite refreshing to read. Tom/Harry interaction off the wall, and a dark side of Harry. Very intelligent read. And very good.
LOST HORSE CREEK, MONTANA-- READ IT, BITCHES!!!
--there's a fantastic group of stories out there by theplanetmary, called 'The Native Sky Series'. It frikin awesome, and her updates on Lost Horse Creek, Montana don't come fast enough. Its eventually going to be K/S, but very slow going. Read her 3 or so one-shots that lead up to LHCM. I PROMISE you won't be disappointed.
I love this show.
Lately I've been reading Dean/Cas. Oh man...SO HOT.
I'm not really a Sam-girl or Dean-girl, both brothers mean alot to me. I identify and sympathize with Sam more- our personalities are more alike, I'm a younger sibling, I'm more cerebral. But I admire and love Dean so much- I think in the same way you'd look up to a bigger brother. I think this connection they have, to make it meaningful, does not need to lead to the whole incest/sex thing. Its deep and powerful and you don't need anything physical there. They'd go to the ends of the earth for one another. I think its more intense even than the connection Spock and Kirk have. And while I can see Kirk/Spock going on, Sam/Dean...i dunno. Its almost more than that.
Not to say that Wincest fic can't be good literature. Some authors, like Candle Beck, can most definitely pull it off. But I'm not watching the show, waiting for the boys to make out.
And I haven't read it yet, because I want to at least get through the first season- but anything by theplanetmary is always good- Like Us But on Horseback and the 'Like Us' universe. She's got some other oneshots to go with it.
