Author has written 2 stories for Ranma. Wow, I finally looked at how many people had visited my empty profile, and I decided that I'd better put something here! Background: Grew up loving animation, still do, still think the best stories out there are seen in animated format. Grew up and got hooked early with Astro boy, Kimba the White Lion. Discovered some cool anime on PBS in high school (many years ago). After first finding Ranma 1/2, and then fanfiction.net, I've been an avid fan. I've read some absolutely fantastic fanfiction on this site, so good that I've effectively given up reading normal fiction books, I get too much enjoyment seeing the creativity here. Current: After years of reading great stuff by many of the authors, the one area I felt was...lacking...was a good Ranma and Kasumi fic, so in my hubris, I decided to give it a try. The result was One Trick Pony. All I can say is I am overwhelmed by the positive response.Your reviews were so good that it was difficult to post the last chapters for fear of disappointing the current fans of the story. If writing my first story taught me anything, it's how much more I can appreciate the stories I've read here so far. Thanks to the many authors who have given me many hours of entertainment. Actually, one of the most difficult things to do is to try to write a story when you read so many others that you think are far better than your own. Again, the good reviews help quell those negative thoughts. So, why Kasumi and Ranma? Well, I've got to admit that Kasumi is a basically unformed character by Rumiko. I think that most of my impression of her comes from the stories found on and not from the manga. I guess the voice and mannerisms in the anime lend a little more life to her character, but really I admit she is a blank slate. Ranma on the other hand is a basically good guy who just can't get enough peace to get his act together. I've read some good Ranma/Akane fics, but when I get back to the manga/anime, I still never can get by her relentless anger. I think Ranma tolerates her because he doesn't know much else (Genma isn't the most sympathetic parent after all). In the end, I just think that they'd be good for each other. The guilt has finally got to me, and I've decided to start working on a sequel to One Trick Pony. Heck, half the battle was finally coming up with a good enough title for it! I mean One Trick Pony...A Team of Wild Horses...Brilliant! Bwah hah hah hah hah! I'm sure the critics will see some ideas snatched/inspired from some other fics...mostly because they got me thinking...yeah, but what if... Special Thanks: To my beautiful wife, whose patience I have tried during my first attempt at fan-fiction. My greatest frustration is that she's the far better writer, but her story gets far less attention than mine. |
