Author has written 42 stories for Blind Justice, House, M.D., Daredevil, NCIS, Ironside, and Covert Affairs.
I'm a proud Canadian who actually lived in the United States of America for two years in the '80's and still have many good friends in Brooklyn, Long Island, Yonkers, Jonesboro and Los Angeles. I recently moved back to the old hometown. My mother lives here and she turned 90 on her last birthday. Living here was the only way to keep track of her with the Widow's Club and the Red Hat Society and the Bag Ladies group... thank god she gave up on golf and bowling.
I was born in 1955 and I really am my mother's fifth child with three brothers and three sisters, but due to circumstances beyond my control I'm down one brother. That is why I write, because life is too short not to do the things you like. One of these days I am going to try my hand at writing novels and readily admit that fan fiction helped me tap into a writing community I never realized existed on such a huge scale.
I read mysteries, science fiction and romances and have discovered that most good books have an element of romance in them. Who knew? I watch NCIS, Grimm, The First 48, and Covert Affairs. I also love old movies, especially musicals, film noir and Universal horror. I will also blame Alice for getting me hooked on comic books again. Once a Daredevil fan, always a Daredevil fan, I guess. I listen to Jazz, Swing, Big Band but will listen to just about any music before I pass judgment.
Reading a very good book on writing it asked the question "What are the three books you can read over and over again. After a lot of thought I came up with Jane Eyre, Song of Bernadette and Huckleberry Finn. Even now, characters with physical disabilities or psychic pain and how they overcome these difficulties are a large part of my reading. Jeffery Deaver, Baynard Kendrick, and George C. Chesbro (I miss you, George. You actually got me to drink Scotch.) all sit together on my bookshelf along with Ian Rankin and P. D. James. So I read fan fiction for Blind Justice, Daredevil, House, NCIS, Ironside, Once Upon a Time in Mexico and now Covert Affairs. I guess I will always root for the underdog because every dog has his day... eventually.
See the little lady in my avatar. That is my youngest great niece. She's so funny, her personality of already a little bent... just the way it should be. Her birthday is the day before mine and I'd rather have her picture for all to see. It was that or a picture of my broken toe from last April. Can't say that I not bent either.
A quick note and addition, in April I became a great-great aunt. My oldest great nephew, Jay, and his lovely wife, Lisa, have added William Spencer to the family. Why do I feel older and I'm not even 60. (Hold on, in the world of fan fiction that's ancient.) He's a cutie so I guess I don't mind.
