Hello, you can call me AkaiKurai, or just AK-chan. I'm not really much or a writer but I do review stories very often. Well...when I can often. Meh
Favorite Anime(s)/Manga(s)- Favorite Character(s)
Ah yes, the infamous question. Where do I start?
Inuyasha- Sesshoumaru (Almost a duh for me), Kagome
Full Metal Alchemist- Ed. He's vertically challenged!
Samurai Champloo- I like Jin, in a time where honor is scarce and the way of the samurai is dying, he stands firm and true! Sort of...
Yu Yu Hakusho- I like Kurama. He's my kind of fighter; thinking before acting.
Naruto- Kakashi, Neiji and Lee. Weird I know. Plus I only like the manga, the anime's just...meh.
One Piece- Hey, I like Pirates! I like Trace Luffy's brother, they seem opposite but there are times when the family similarities show through.
Yu-gi-oh- Childish yes, I know, but well...it's interesting. I'm a fan of history and magic and this ones chocked full of it (almost too the point where it's annoying). My fav character would have to be Kaiba Seto.
Bleach- Byakuya! I love his zanpakutou- it’s so versatile. I love the action and that fact that, again, its got a lot of magic and supernatural stuff. *Sigh* I'm such a weirdo.
Saiyuki- I haven't heard too many good things about the anime for this wonderful manga. Sanzo's my favorite, I love his eyes. Heh And his fan's awesome- I want one!
Fruits Basket- I like the manga and the anime for Furuba; They did a good job on the voice. I was sad they cut it after only the sixth volume though. The manga is a good series for any anime/manga fan. If I had to pick a favorite character I'd pick either Hatori or Haru.
Rurouni Kenshin- I haven't seen Kenshin in a while and I've only seen the anime but I love it to death. I like Kenshin of course, but Aoshi's cool too. I like his weapons, and I want to learn his fighting style.
Trigun- I haven't seen Trigun in a while, and only the anime again. I'm such a bad otaku. But I love Vash's little black kitty; does he count as a character?
About AK
Well, I’m American and speak primarily English (although I’m learning Japanese) which is why all the stories I read are English (duh). I love fantasy and enjoy tweaking things in ways that are… unusual. I also have a nasty habit of fan character x canon pairings. Now, I know some people don’t like those, I agree with you on some point. Most fan-characters are blatantly mary-sue; I try to keep my characters away from that and still keep them interesting while avoiding giving them super uber powers and such.
As a writer I’d say the most difficult thing in writing for me would be… hm… either keeping canon characters in character (even though my the definition of fanfiction all canon characters are OOC anyways… I guess keeping them less OOC) or conversation. I’m more of a descriptive writer and can sometimes get kind of wordy on the details. I’m trying to work on it, the keeping in character and the talking… but I’m not changing my wordy-ness.
Lets see… pet peeves! I hate horrible spelling. I mean, I know everyone makes mistakes and no one’s perfect but come on people! MS Word has spell check for a reason. And I know some words are tough to spell for those who don’t use Word for whatever reason but when you start spelling simple common words that’s when I start to have issues. Also, blatant mistakes that could easily be caught by re-reading. Stuff like missed words, some of those spelling mistakes, the use of the wrong kind of ‘there’….
