Eimaan: The Brains Behind The Stories!
What I am:
I’m a fifteen-year-old girl who’s been affected so badly by the “Obsessive, Compulsive Harry Potter Disorder” that if you examine my day, you’ll find it’s full of Harry Potter. I go to high school like regular teenagers. I love Maths, English and Chemistry. I like Cricket, Badminton and Throwball (sometimes)
What I do:
Well, as it is pretty clear, I love writing fan fiction. I began writing fan fiction last March and have been doing so. I was so ashamed of some of my early fics that I took them down recently. I find my writing and my ideas have been improving. And my grammar. The grammar and punctuation improved when I got a beta reader at Gryffindortower.net – Firebolt909.
Anyway, I’m going off topic. Let’s go ahead then…
How fan fiction affects me – today:
Fan fiction, at least writing it, has a very mixed effect on me. Bad, Good, Wonderful, Cheering, Depressing, all of it. Bad – because when last exams I wrote fan fiction instead of studying, I didn’t get good marks at all! Good because I feel good writing about my favorite stuff. Wonderful because when I write it, and I get reviews, I feel soooo happy! Just writing it makes me excited! Cheering because if I read some brilliant fan fics in a day, I feel really happy! (BTW, I just read a good one. It’s by Airawen) And Depressing because if I read really boring fics, or at least fics I don’t like, I feel the day to be ‘useless’. See what I mean?
Fan fiction also affects me in a rather peculiar way. Firstly, as I have come to realize, I am thinking about it almost all the time. It’s like half my mind is involved in working out the next scene of my latest fic. Let me name all the stupid places I work up my ideas which some people review and call “Wonderful”. You’d be surprised, and even raise an eyebrow over my stupidity or rather, how badly I have been affected by the OCHPD (as mentioned above)
In the school bus, putting o my school shoes, on the way to Morning Assembly, in a boring class, in an interesting class, while eating, in bed, listening to music, on a walk, bathing or even while doing my homework!
How I get ideas (in case you are wondering):
As mentioned above, get ideas in the silliest of al places in the world! Usually, when I get a brainwave (which is quite rare!) I squeal in delight attracting bewildered stares. As soon as I cover up my epression of sudden delight, I rush off to find a paper and pencil to note it down. Why? Because often, I find wonderful ideas completely lost – memory loss!
I usually get ideas while listening to songs – my favorite songs. Believe it or not. Even during my exams, I lay awake, late into the night, listening to songs and acquiring good ideas. The songs, though, are recent acquisitions.
