![]() Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter. For Potions and Snitches stuff see here. Penname: Jan_AQ I am chiefly a reader, secondly a group moderator, and thirdly a writer. You are welcome to email me about any reviews I gave you. I don't mind talking about them and I love communication in the fandom. Favourite genres: My Favorite characters: My LJ Communitites: Potions and Snitches (P&S) A fandom community dedicated to Harry Potter and Severus Snape in Gen relationships: Father and Son, teacher and student, Master and Apprentice, Guardian, Mentor, Canon and Enemy situations. Fanfiction Archive, communities and more. Ratings G-R (K-M), No SS/HP slash. FYI: The "Severitus Challenge" was first started in the early 2000's by the author Severitus (yes, that's her penname) in which: Severus Snape must be revealed to be Harry's father, Remus Lupin must have returned to Hogwarts for some reason or another, Harry must undergo some progressive physical change starting on his birthday, the story must be based mostly around Harry and Snape, and more rules here: http:///thechallenge.htm The term "Severitus" is often mistakenly used for any story where Snape is Harry's father. The correct name for a story like that would be "Snape is Harry's Father" or even "Sevitus" (a P&S term) if they are biologically father and son. Please don't use the term "Severitus" for anything other than a "Severitus Challenge" response. Potions, Snitches, and Unlikely Relations: Jan's List of Harry Potter Fanfiction A guide of sorts listing 800 fics, the large majority revolving around Severus Snape and Harry Potter in Gen relationships. Muggleville: What is it really about? Muggleville is a Gen story, meaning no romance, no sex, no real violence... Basically it's about the two characters I "love to force to get along" going to America with a third original character. I create certain father and son situations that force the two main characters to interact throughout the story, as much as possible within reason. Sometimes they play nice with each other, but hehe... they really don't like each other at first ("at first" meaning the first 17 chapters). All the characters stay British and Wizards, trying to blend in a different society. The genres would be general, drama, humor and some angst. Perhaps some mystery, but not really. There is not much of a real plot, mostly little events that create more events later... the story will go through the summer before 6th year and will probably end up being 50-60 chapters long. The storyline has been written down for over a year, it will be finished independently of the 6th book and on my own pace. This is sort of my practice piece before I start any of my real stories. I absolutely know what a Mary Sue is and the difference between one and a real original character. My OC is not a Mary Sue, you can be assured that the story will not focus on her, she won't have any special abilities, we won't follow her around reading about what she thinks and feels about herself, or of anyone else unless it serves a purpose, even if that purpose is just fleshing out the story. She actually is more of a secondary character who is most prominent at the beginning of the story and will mostly fade out by the middle and end, but hopefully she won't be static. To be impartial and fair to you readers, I even took the Mary Sue Litmus test to make sure that my OC wasn't a Mary Sue. There is only a 4 percent chance that she is a Mary Sue, only because we are the same gender, and she is related to one of the recurring characters. Spoilers/Warnings: One of the characters is deaged to a 6-year-old and there will be mentions of abuse. There is really no teenie-bop "American" junk stuff in the story except for the kid things Harry might enjoy playing with since he's little. And maybe a scene about why Wizards and Computers don't mix... January 2015: The story will be finished... I will not stop writing and posting chapters until the story is finished, it just may take a couple of months (years) between updates. My favourite stories here are just stories from several different fandoms that I liked and added simply because I really liked them or thought them singularly inventive or clever or different. Some are awesome, some aren't. If you want to see a more standard list of my Harry Potter reads then go visit my guide and look under the 5 and 4 frogs pages. http:/// |
