Here is the German version of And So They Lived, translated by the lovely ashuuk.

What does true love look like? It looks like God sending his only Son to die for unworthy sinners. It looks like that Son willingly taking upon his shoulders all the sins of those unworthy people, even going to hell, which would be their punishment for their sins. It looks like that Son returning to life so that everyone who believes in his name - the name of Jesus Christ - will be saved from their dues.

We have fallen so short of God's perfect standards - even our best efforts mean nothing. But God didn't want to remain separated from us forever. So He sent his son Jesus Christ to die for us, paying the punishment we deserved as sinful, rebellious children, and thus reconciling us to God. Everyone who accepts Jesus's sacrifice is welcomed into communion and everlasting life with God. But those who reject Him will be forever separated from Him in hell.
It is not our goodness that saves us; it is Jesus who makes us right with God.
