Short version: Hi, I'm a medical school student who writes fanfiction in her free time (which is supposed to be 'none') but in-between trying to learn how to save lives and trying to digest as much knowledge from books and algorithms, I do get the occasional plot bunny that refuses to leave. Thus, I try to ressurect myself in this cyber world of a million and one fandoms by writing. Hello!
I ended up not deleting most of my old stories. I tried, and I was able to delete I think three or four, but as I went through them again and realized I liked them lingering there, laughing at me and reminding me what a dorky teenager I was, writing fanfics with a lot of ellipses during my free time. Of course, at twenty-five, I am still dorky and I still write the occasional fanfic, though this time with lesser ellipses. I think that this, at least, is a testament to my improvement.
I'm still debating whether I should delete some of the "author's notes" in my older fics, because a tad of them are even more embarrassing than the many ellipses, but I'm not sure if my younger self would approve. I do feel, however, that it adds to the nostalgic (though admittedly humiliating) charm. Either way, if you read anything 2006 or older, consider yourself warned.
Recently, I do not know where to place myself in this larger internet world with a million and one fandoms.
I admit that Zuko/Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender has been my recent guilty pleasure, however. And oh, Taichi/Chihaya from Chihayafuru. I'm also very much into Detective Conan and Magic Kaitou.
As you can see, I have a penchant for pairings that don't end up together. It happens all the time. (I know Chihayafuru isn't finished yet, but the expectation is deep-set in my bones. If Taichi ends up with Chihaya, my entire life as the woman who ships pairings that never end up together will have been a lie. Of course, I would rather have that than them not ending up together!)
The hardest part of this all is that since I am practicing to write again, I feel like my old style has abandoned me. So until I grasp that stage where I'm comfortable with with what I write, please bear with whatever I release on this site.
Add me "psychedelicaya" on tumblr! I'm also "psychedelic aya" on AO3! (I mention this because the AO3 fics are more... beta'd, so to say. You're probably safer there.)
