![]() Author has written 52 stories for Angel, Stargate: SG-1, StarTrek: Voyager, Supernatural, Sentinel, Stargate: Atlantis, Magnificent Seven, Sherlock, Hawaii Five-0, and Haven. Update as of 2012: some of my essays, articles, monographs, original fiction are/will be on this site's sister site, Fiction Press, also look for The Cat's Whiskers under authors. Really, I'm the wrong species. I should be a Hydra, for all the hats I wear. I work all the time, any time, not in any particular order, as: a business manager, commercial genealogist (family history researcher), freelance writer, authoress, freelance journalist, poetess, teacher, trainer, lecturer, and lay minister. I am a minister and a writer; I can no more not be these things than I can live without breathing, so in short, I can usually be counted on to be imitating a swan - serenely she glides on the surface, underneath there's a perpetual panic attack going on. I originally started writing fan-fiction to 'de-stress'. No deadlines approaching from the wrong end, no word limits, no editorial interference. I intend to continue forever, but I confess that I am somewhat slow in writing. They say patience is a virtue, so those of you that read my stories will be the most virtuous people ever! I am an utterly unremarkable person, which is just the way I like it. All those people who belittle boredom, trash tranquility, pooh-pooh peace and quibble at quiet...I wish. The Chinese knew what they were doing when they made, "May you live in interesting times" a curse. I have a cherished family, maintain contact with a variety of eccentric relatives, have a circle of solid gold friends - by which I mean, 3:00am phone call quality friends - and have been fortunate enough to meet a lot of interesting and thoroughly nice people, including the odd "celebrity" through writing fan-fiction and doing family history. I hereby hail my wonderful Beta Reader, Shallan, her hubby M., who one day will supply me with elk steaks, possibly barbequed - Shallan's mate Cindy Combs (and Cindy's mom) who has written some awesome The Sentinel/McGyver/Stargate SG1 Xovers, the encouraging and insightful Mendenbar, Clea Saal, whose The Sentinel and Buffy/Angel Xover was superb, and Helen Browne et al, whose superb organisation of the first ever Magnificent 7 event in Chester introduced me to The Sentinel TV show and fan-fic writing in the first place (or, alternatively, it's all her fault!) Also Gail Gardener, who put me up and put up with me in Finland, and who didn't laugh the first day I ventured forth into the sub-zero temperature done up like Michelin Man. Gail wrote Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and The Sentinel fan-fiction - and her work is also now on this site. Also Wolfpup (of the Den), Cascade Library admin and Brigitta B., for their kindness and inspiration. I should also mention Linda Stoops, a great writer with so much potential, who sadly died of ovarian cancer a few years back. Her stuff can be found at Wolfpup's Den. I have been fortunate enough to travel widely, though not always at a location intentionally, so if you are reading one of my stories and notice an error, the mistake is all mine. I enjoy reading a wide range of fiction, across several genres, and likewise have eclectic taste in TV shows, currently including Psych, Haven, Warehouse 13, Eureka, White Collar, Chuck, Burn Notice, Castle, Republic of Doyle and Raising Hope, plus of course the oldies-but-goodies - Stargate, Star Trek, Invisible Man, Buffy, Angel, Diagnosis Murder, Highlander the Series etc. NB - if you still want to read the stories after reading this waffle, please note: I consider Political Correctness to be the most racist, sexist, bigoted, socially, politically and religiously divisive and destructive doctrine invented in modern history. My stories are only PC in the sense of being word-processed on one. You have been warned. |
