Author has written 151 stories for Series Of Unfortunate Events, Marching Band, Danny Phantom, Nightmare Before Christmas, Myst/Riven, Edgar Allan Poe, Shakespeare, Inheritance Cycle, Dexter, Phantom of the Opera, Batman, Batman Begins/Dark Knight, Doctor Who, and Web Shows.

Hi, I'm Sugary Snicket, and I am a big fan of Myst and (the recently re-launched in Open Source) Uru Live, both the book series and TV show Dexter, The Phantom of the Opera (Book with some movie and musical thrown in), Batman, the Slenderman Mythos, and A Series of Unfortunate Events. I am also a huge fan of the stop-motion-animated Burton film The Nightmare Before Christmas, as well as Doctor Who (Eleven! Ten! Four!), The Inheritance Cycle, and Harry Potter, but nothing too serious. I adore horror stories and love a good Poe-esque or Lovecraftian horror tale, though I sadly do not see many of the latter. I suspect this is due to the Cthulhu Mythos pretty much being its own genre of fiction, and therefore publishable under copyright laws, but if anyone knows of some good Lovecraft/Other Fandom crossovers, by all means, tell me! I'm always in the mood for a good Eldritch tale. And before you ask, yes, I am very much a Creepypasta fan. Yes, I have written stories about everyone's favorite tall, faceless stalker, but they are not located here - they are located under my FictionPress account, SugarRayne. Yes, I have played Slender, and it is effing scary. And yes, if this text looks distorted in any way, you probably should run. What in the Hell are you even doing with your computer out in the forest anyway?

My favorite type of candy is Reese's cups, but I usually go for the fruity candies before chocolate. My favorite fruits include mango (but not the crappy ones, and with lime, a craving I picked up on a Spanish class trip to Chicago's Pilsen Village area, which is predominantly Hispanic), watermelon, strawberry, and cherry. Especially cherry. If you put cherry flavoring in it, I will eat it - I like cherry anything. I strongly support homosexual equality but I am oddly enough not that big on SlashFic... okay that's a bit of a lie; I do enjoy slash undertones (Batsy and Mr. J anyone?) or a slash pairing if it's canon. I have two mothers and my father is transgendered, so you can understand why I am a very strong advocate for gay marriage and GLBT rights in general. I am a well-known member of the Myst fan community under another name; my favorite of the games is Myst III: Exile but Riven is a very close second. I'm also fairly well-known and respected in certain Joker-centric Batman fan communities for my fanart and fanfic. In my spare time when I'm not at work or studying, hobbies include: playing video games, reading, listening to music, drawing, writing (of course!), and posting on various message boards. I collect dragons as well and have been since I was in fifth grade; my most unique piece of my collection is a tattoo of a dragon sitting on my left shoulder blade, the artwork for which was based on two of the dragons already in my collection, and my favorite piece is a sculpture of a skeletal dragon resting on a human skull that I have nicknamed "Yorick". I also have a modest collection of Joker memorabilia, comics, and paraphrenalia, a collection of assorted pins and buttons that I keep on my backpack, and a collection of various odd knick-knacks that I've acquired throughout my life. At this point I am but a humble college student, majoring in Chem Tech (Yes, I know Organic Chemistry. No, I will not cook you up some drugs. XD). Favorite arbitrary organic molecule? Capsaicin (the spice in hot peppers, since I love hot foods), followed closely by caffeine and theobromine (chocolate's 'feel-good' component). Hablo Espanol, pero no lo hablo con fluidez. My skills are rusty, but chances are if you're a native Spanish speaker I can hold an understandable short conversation with you - even if the grammar's a bit off or simply incorrect entirely. I at some point want to have enough fluency in Spanish to be able to write a poem or two, and eventually a story, entirely in the language.

I'm truly one old dog - I have been on Fanfiction.net for eight years as of the Summer of 2005 (Yes, EIGHT!). As stated above, I have written over 100 stories, poems, and one-shots. The majority of my short stories are Batman tales, specifically focusing on the Joker, while the vast majority of my poetry is set in the Myst fandom. I originally wrote for the ASOUE fanbase (as evidenced by my username) with some Danny Phantom thrown in. I was relatively 'young' in my writing abilities then. I eventually came to write for Nightmare and later, Myst/Riven and a little Eragon. I currently write Batman fanfiction for the DCU (pre-New-DCU) and Nolanverse, mostly Joker stories (but I would like to write for other villains given time and inspiration; it all depends on where the current flows). I generally write one-shots and poetry, mainly because that's how plot ideas come to me most often (therefore multi-chaptered stories from me are kind of a big deal, since they take a lot longer to plan out and write - my last multi-chaptered fic took two years to get ready!). I do not write for any specific genre, but there are genres I prefer to write for (horror, drama, humor) and genres I don't (romance in particular, but I have written for it). I tend to divide my stories and poems into two categories: the Serious and the Not-So-Serious. As for writing style, I LOVE suspense and horror stories, and I love dark subject matters even more. You'll find that it shows mostly in the more Serious stories (though I do sometimes add humor in to break up the tension!). In fact, I love suspense so much that I consider it a little bit of a weakness as an author and I try not to rely on it so heavily nowadays. The Not-So-Serious stories tend to be dryly humorous, reflecting my often dark and sarcastic sense of humor, though some can be flat-out pointlessly random (not so much anymore, though). I generally try to aim for a good mix of Serious and Not-So-Serious (and perhaps a bit of the Why-So-Serious) when writing a typical story for a given fanbase, and I also try to add very vivid descriptions of the setting of a story, or, failing this, very vivid descriptions of the characters. I am known to be a bit of a purist when it comes to character traits and can be easily frustrated when a character is OOC, unless making the character OOC would add to the work as a whole.

I also have a strict desire to finish all stories that I write, partially because of my near Obsessive-Compulsive drive to finish something I've begun, so you should almost never see a story that I have abandoned in mid-plot. If the story is for whatever reason aborted, you'll never see a trace of it as it will never be written, because if it isn't strong enough to hold MY interest, how is it ever going to hold the reader's? I simply don't like to start a story unless I know at least where to begin. If I don't have at least that, I hold off on writing even the first draft until I know where I'm going with the ideas I get. I usually try to post my stories on some sort of schedule so people don't have to wait in suspense for months at a time for the next part of a story. You may not see a new story from me for long periods of time, due to college devouring every spare scrap of my time, but I occasionally pop in with a very short drabble or poem. I also update my profile as time permits, as I am always finding inspiration for new story ideas somewhere, so be sure to check back every so often!

Currently, I am experimenting with short fiction both here and over at my Fictionpress account (SugarRayne), so don't expect many multi-chapter stories for now. Most of those are on the back burner for right now. Batman and Slenderman Mythos stuff are my focus points right now with a heavier inclination towards Batman fic, but it is mostly poetry and short stories.

I support the following ships:

- ASOUE: Violaf (Within reason), Quiglet, Klausidora, Fernald/OC, Eslaf, the occasional Kliona, and Lemonitrice. Klauslet Sibling relationship is also supported, but ONLY as siblings.
- Nightmare:
Jally (Jack/Sally), Shlock (Shock/Lock), and I TOLERATE some Saloogie (Sally/Oogie).
- Danny Phantom:
Dansam, Jaz/OC, and DanJaz sibling relationship.
- Inheritance Cycle:
Durzarya, Murtagon sibling relationship, Durza/OC, Eragarya, Saphthorn (if it draws my interest), Durzatorix (if humorous and not too far past T).
- Harry Potter:
I don't check here much, usually I look for humor. Draco/OC, Harry/OC, Tonks/Lupin, Hermaco (only occasionally).
- Myst:
The original couples. Cathatrus, Tamedro, the occasional Sirrus/OC. Yeesha/OC is occasionally interesting, but I'm not too attached to it.
- Dexter:
DexDeb sibling relationship, Deb/OC (especially if the OC is... interesting). I really haven't seen that much Dexter-fic.
- PotO: I like R/C, but I prefer E/C for some reason. I don't know if it's the creep factor that I like or if I just prefer Villain romances over Hero romances, but...
- Dark Knight/Batman:
Jokachel. Sorry, Harvey and Bruce, but she, in my opinion, would have made one hell of a Harley Quinn. I'm also open to Brachel and Harvachel, but don't expect any explicit Joker/Batsy slash from me - just undertones. I do support Joker/Batsy if it's similar to their dynamic in the comics or one-sided and skewed towards Joker because it amuses me; if it's slash for the sake of it, I'm not interested. If you're going for the DCU as a whole, the aforementioned Joker/Batsy undertones, Cat/Bat, Cat/Clown if I'm feeling particularly cracky, and Jarley plz, thank you, is there more? :D But for the love of God, DON'T make their relationship a lovey-dovey fest, come on. DCAU? Sure it kinda works if you stretch it. DCU? No. Just no. Not when one is an abuser responsible for the other's insanity and the other is a borderline stalker of the one.
- Slenderman Mythos/Marble Hornets/etc.: I do not ship any pairings for this fandom. Especially not if Slendy is one of the... "people" involved in the ship. I can accept a hell of a lot of things with this fandom and I don't really care if you wanna slash-ship Tim and Masky or whatever, but come on, people, shipping humans with the Slenderman is just weird. I know Slendy has tentacles and the internet has seen enough hentai to know where that's going, but no. Just no. Why would something that's clearly not human want to engage in "activities" with human beings anyway? Wouldn't that technically be bestiality anyway? This fandom has enough horror and disturbing moments without that, and Slendy's intended to be Paranoia-Something-Is-Stalking-Me Creepy, not Pervy Creepy. This is not a Lovecraftian horror fic set in Dunwich, for God's sake. We do not need SlenderHuman hybrids and freaky tentacle rape scenes. I know you think we do. But we don't. I promise you, we really don't. Now please excuse me, I need to go cling to my Masky plushie and cry in the corner, because people who write porn fics about the Slenderman scare me worse than Slendy itself does. (NOTE: I do not actually own a Masky plushie. I wish I did, though.)

Yeah, I just like to smoosh names together for the heck of it. XD In that order, my fave characters from each of those fanbases are as follows:

- Violet.
- Jack, but I also like the Wolfman. He's cool. B-)
- Sam, actually. Danny's cool and all, but Sam is more like me.
- Durza. :) Saphira's cool, though, too.
- OMG... Remus Lupin and Tonks! XD And Luna Lovegood.
- Saavedro! He's my Myst muse. :) I will admit to a crush on Sirrus, though. He's basically the only really handsome guy in the series... and he's a bad boy. ;) Can you blame a girl? My favorite animal/being though has to be the Bahro - they make such adorable noises and are the closest being to human you'll probably find in the Myst universe aside from actual age residents and other Cavern explorers. And Squees are always a winner. We can't forget the Squees, can we?
- Dexter, of course. :)
- Erik, dude. Just... Erik. He is scary as Hell and amazing at the same time. And he has a torture chamber mirror room. That, my friend, is the epitome of bad-assery.
- The Joker, natch. ;) Then again, I've always been a bit of a closet Joker fan; it only recently showed up after I saw The Dark Knight. I'm also a fan of Catwoman, the Riddler (the recent video games Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City gave him MAJOR, MAJOR levels in badass; seriously, import that version to the comics NOW, Eddie's popularity would skyrocket), and Scarecrow (he intrigues my inner horror fan). I'm also partial to Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. Because Ivy's badass and Harley cracks me up, giant mallet and all. Plus, BTAS gives them a few episodes to themselves. That, my friends, is feminine awesomeness at its finest. XD
- Three guesses which tall, faceless antagonist is my favorite in this fandom. The first two don't count. XD

With all due respect,

Sugary Snicket

PS: Please be on the lookout for the following fanfictions I will soon be posting on this site when I get the time. Please note that the dates here are only SPECULATED dates of publication and are subject to change at any time.

How To Decipher my Expected Publishing Dates

My expected DOPs are listed at the end of the stories' description in bold. Below is a quick overview of what they mean.

Coming Soon: This means that the story is still being debated as to whether it is an interesting enough story to write and post. It also means that I have yet to plan it out, or I may have planned it, but I have not started to write it yet.
Coming Early/Late Summer/Spring/Fall/Winter XXXX:
The story can be expected, under the best circumstances, to show up on Fanfiction sometime within the stated year (hence the XXXX), and specifically within the seasons specified. The early/late tag means that it will be coming early or late in that particular season.
ON HIATUS:
Either in the progress of being prewritten, not yet written, or on the site already, but on hold until I can catch up with other story deadlines that are approaching too rapidly for their own good. May also indicate that I am so incredibly busy with my social life that I do not have time to write.
Beta Stage:
The story is in the process of being written and, in the case of longer stories, beta-read by someone else. That is, the story's being worked on as we speak, and isn't quite ready for a set date or deadline yet.
In Progress (Please review!):
The story is currently being written and posted. Reviews would be appreciated. This only applies to multi-chapter stories, obviously.(The 'Please Review' tag will usually show up when a story is not getting very many reviews.)

A completed story will be erased from the list entirely because there is no longer any need for the information to be up.

NOTE:

All of my old crossover stories (or at least the ones that could be moved) are now located in the crossover section, and all future crossovers or Meta-style crossover fics will go there as well. That means that Bind, The Malevolent Mansion, and A Series of Paranormal Events: Bad Beginnings will no longer show up in the old categories. You shouldn't need to update any links, but if you do, I apologize for the inconvenience. From now on, any and all crossover stories will be under the crossover section, so look for them there, NOT in the normal section. I also renamed my short Cask of Amontillado 'sequel' to Broken Cask, so look for it under that. The short Batman Begins/Dark Knight fic called Entropy was also recently renamed to Apocalyptic Gotham: Three Experiments in Anarchy, so you'll now find it under that title even though the old link still works. Again, I apologize for any problems that this may have caused.

Myst/Riven

Alone or Together... Find a Way, Make a Home...

I no longer write for this fandom. It has been far too long without any sort of inspiration, drive, or decent Mystfic ideas, so I am putting it to rest. I am sorry if this disappoints any of my fans, but now I can focus on more Batman stories and Jokerfic, as well as a few other things...

PotO

I am your Angel of Music...

Working on mainly poetry and drabbles here, but the occasional story might pop up from time to time - generally more based on the novel end of the phandom. However, my own Angel of Music seems to have gone AWOL on me; I simply can't find him anywhere. Hopefully he comes back soon... I've been meaning to return to the lair of the Phantom sometime soon...

(Untitled): A so far untitled work that parodies, lampoons, and satirizes PotO as a whole. I have, however, only read the book once in its entirety, so I have a lot to work on. I also have my hands tied with classwork; as a result, this story will probably not make its way into the public eye for quite some time. I predict it'll be more of a success with the Leroux fans rather than the Webber fans, but that's just me. :) Just to be on the safe side, I'm predicting a K to T rating, as I don't know if there'll be sexual innuendo or strong language yet. Obviously (Parody/Humor). ON HIATUS.

Batman, BB/TDK/TDKR, and DCAU

Don't Get Even - Get Mad!

Doing a TON with Comic!Joker right now - he's pretty much got me by the throat and is pestering me with story and poem ideas - but don't worry, I haven't left the Nolanverse behind, not by a longshot. if anything, it's been recharged a bit from finally getting to see TDKR. I haven't been writing as much as I could anyway because of college, but I AM writing, and I have literally hundreds of poems in store from my old poem book, including a lot of Batman ones, that will be released when I have the time. I'm also still dabbling with just how far I can push the Joker's evilness, because we all know he's a twisted bastard anyway - and since I finally got to play through Batman: Arkham Asylum (haven't gotten to Arkham City just yet), the character's only been refreshed in my mind, so I doubt the Clown Prince is letting me go any time soon...

Hazing (Working Title): It's not easy being an Arkham Asylum guard between the long hours, the breakout attempts, and the twisted villains that call its cracked stone walls and dingy cells home. It's even worse being a newcomer - for decades, the proud new employees of Arkham Guard Unit #35, tasked with guarding Arkham's Restricted Access Ward, have been subjected to a seemingly simple, innocuous dare - walk up to the cell door of patient #0801 (alias "The Joker") at the end of the hallway, get close enough past its yellow safety line to touch it, and stand there for a ten-count. Even more traditional is to hide in the cell when it's empty and scare the newcomer. It is this dare that new recruit Frank Olmetti must endure, but that cell isn't always empty... How far can one little prank go before it is no longer funny, and indeed is more terrifying than hilarious? Probably about a T rating, but might go lower. One-shot for now, but I suppose it could be a multi-chapter fic if I get the right flow going. (Suspense/Drama). Coming Soon.

Only You (Working Title): Great, Bruce. Just great. Your communication system's been destroyed in combat, you're pretty sure you've broken something, and you're trapped in a room somewhere with your worst enemy. This night couldn't possibly get any worse, and the only reason you're not saying it out loud is because if you do, the Joker is going to ensure that it is worse. Exploring the Batman/Joker dynamic by trapping them in a oubliette for a night. Rating might be a K, but might also be a T depending on what happens and how dark the story gets. Likely going to be (Humor/General), and there may be shades of slash if you squint, but nothing blatant. Yes, the working title is a reference to the song Joker sings at the end of Batman: Arkham City, but may change. Coming Soon.

Doll (Working Title): He had their life as a plaything, a set of pretty little dolls to do as he wished, a chess set in which they were pawns, a shaky Jenga tower with only a single brick holding it aloft. His favorite was always the pretty mama doll with the soft auburn waves who worked at the bank. Sometimes he even held her close and whispered words, threats, and fears to her, watching as she shook with nervous anticipation... What made Alicia afraid of clowns even before the Joker attacked her family. Takes place during The Neighborhood, exploring how the Joker toyed with Alicia while Robert wasn't looking. Rated T for creepiness/thematic elements, and for some violence/death. (Suspense/Horror). Coming Soon.

Smoldering (Working Title): Eight years after the Bat's disappearance, a new force rises from Gotham's underbelly, and the Joker... wants no part of it? Well, I suppose there IS a method to the madness - after all, just because he's a glutton for pain doesn't mean the Joker wants his spine broken, and Hell, he's gotta do something while the Bat is gone. A theory on what the Joker was doing during the events of TDKR. Because of this, expect spoilers for the film if you haven't seen it yet. Probably going to be rated T for thematic elements and violence, and is Nolanverse-centered. A return for me to Ledger!Joker after a painfully long absence. (Action/General or Crime/General or just plain General). Coming as Soon as I'm Sure I Won't Spoil The Film For Most People.

Incendiary (Working Title): His scars crept into a smile, then a sick grin as he watched the flames engulf the ferry. A laugh formed at the back of his throat, slithering over his tongue to tumble from his mouth right before an armored glove slammed into his face, and still he could not contain himself. Despite what the Batman had attempted to do, despite all his harsh blows and awful punches, his mission had failed. And the Joker had won. An A/U look at what might have happened if the Joker's ferry experiment in TDK had succeeded, and the fallout that might have resulted. In other words, Batman: No Man's Land, in Nolanverse Gotham, with less Earthquake and more Joker. It will still follow some of what happened in between TDK and TDKR, to a point, with the exception that the story is A/U and doesn't fit into the Nolanverse canon, obviously. Yet another return to my Joker fan roots after being gone for such a long, long time. Rated T for violence, thematic elements, and all the general stuff you might expect an "Apocalypse: Gotham" style story to have. (Suspense/Action or Suspense/Horror). Coming Soon.

Trolling can be fun, is usually funny, and in some circles, is even encouraged. But Cyber-Bullying is NEVER funny and should NEVER be encouraged, and you know when the line between the two is crossed by how it makes you feel.
