Last name change I promise. Sorry for the multiple changes I am trying to separate my personal and fanish stuff online. My original name is one that is used outside fandom and someone came across it online and lets just say I spent ages explaining things so hence the name change. The second name change was due to the fact the name I had chosen was not available on another site and the last due to a rethink.. This is it the final change *honest*.
As a reader I like a lot of things. I love a good plot, and a bit of mystery and adventure, add in some angst and some hurt/comfort then I am a happy bunny. On the relationship side I can take it or leave it. I like a well written Gen story. But when it comes to a relationship story I like Het and Slash. It really depends on the characters and how they interact, if I think they have chemistry or if an author can weave me an intricate tale to convince me why they are together, then I am pretty much open to most things, it doesnt bother me if they are male/female or male/male.
My obsessions are Smallville and CSI New York, Sanctuary a certain Potions Professor from Harry Potter...and BBC's Sherlock.
In June of 2009 I discovered Smallville and the absolutely delectable Lex Luthor played by the sexy Mr Michael Rosenbaum. *THUD* Who has got to be the nicest celebrity I have ever met.
Although I love angst, H/C, mystery and action stories I have discovered, since finding Smallville, that I have a thing for mpreg Lex stories and RPS fiction. Two things I didn't really read until Smallville came along. Michael and Lex have a LOT to answer for. *g*
Obviously in Smallville my favorite character if you haven't guessed is Lex. I am so a Lex girl *sigh* So I like Lex centric stories.
My main pairing is Clark/Lex, I'm possibly a little obsessed with them..*g* But I also adore Lex/Chloe intellectually she is a far better match for him than Lana ever was. I also have a weakness for Lex/Bruce (Wayne). And also Lex/Dean (Winchester) Basically if it has Lex in it I will read it.
I have loved Gary Sinise ever since I watched Steven King's - The Stand years ago. So I was delighted when CSI - New York hit the air. So its not surprising that Mac Taylor is my favorite character. Obviously I love Mac centric stories but I also love Mac/Don as these two characters are my fav in CSI:NY. I also like Mac/Stella but I am not opposed to Mac/Lindsay, I love when she runs her experiments on him.
On Sanctuary I was drawn in by the premise of the program and was instantly charmed by the talented Mr Jonathon Young's portrayal of Vampire Nikola Tesla who quickly became my favorite character by far. He is insanely smart, charming, arrogant, a trouble magnet, reckless, dangerous and utterly addictive. Oh and did I mention he is the last Vampire in existence. His snarking comments and charming smile are to die for. I am very much a Helen/Nikola fan but I do like a the pairing of Nikola/Henry. There are some awesome writers out there of good long Helen/Nikola stories that have the perfect blend of action/mystery and the wonderful snarking and flirting that only Helen and Nikola can pull off.
06/11/12 - I resisted for SO long, I don't need another fandom..I don't...damn it Mr Rickman why aren't you listening to me. *headesk*
Okay I give in I am now addicted to the Harry Potter fandom. Or more specifically Severus Snape. I mean come on, he is perfect. Tall, dark, brooding, sarcastic, all that black, the angst, the mystery..*sigh* Add in Alan Rickman and his voice and *THUD* I couldn't resist any longer...
Its not surprising I fell for Snape after all I have loved Alan since Die Hard, and Truly Madly Deeply (god I LOVE that film). I went to see Die Hard for Bruce Willis and came out addicted to Alan Rickman *g*.
Up until recently I had only seen the first 3 Harry Potter films. I will admit to have been put off by all the hype and fuss over them, but I did really enjoy the films. But the minute I saw the first film it was clear that Severus was going to be a problem, his character is just my type, so sue me I rarely fall for the clean cut hero. As much as I enjoyed the films I did avoid watching the rest...
Because A, I knew that once I got to caught up in the character I would be totally hooked.
and B, because I had a sneaking suspicion he would get killed.
This was confirmed when reading an article online, which had NOTHING to do with Harry Potter at all, someone dropped the spoiler that yes Severus Snape dies in the last book. I hate when people do that.
So in the end I caved and watched the remaining films, mainly because I was creating some art for a friends story, and I needed to get a feel for the characters, and as a result I was well and truly rebitten by the Snape bug. Ever since then I have been devouring all the Severus Snape fic I can find. There are some really great Severus based fics out there. I have also read a few pairings like Severus/Harry which seems to be the most popular but its not my favorite pairing. I seem to be leaning more towards two other pairings Severus/Remus and Severus/Hermione. Not surprising considering that after Severus, Remus and Hermione are my other favorite characters.
So there it is my new addiction, thanks to Mr Rickman and his portrayal of a brooding Potions Master... oh god what have I gotten myself into...so many stories to read so little time...
10/03/2013 - Damnation, its my own bloody fault. I sat and rewatched BBC's Sherlock. This was a VERY bad idea. I am a bit of a Sherlock Holmes nut always have been. Jeremy Brett being my favorite Sherlock Holmes. So a few years back I watched the first episode of Sherlock with a little trepidation. When it finished my first thought was bloody hell its seven days until the next episode, I wont make it. I was gobsmacked by the show, and utterly addicted. I dabbled in the fandom reading some stories but there weren't a lot around at the beginning and real life was being a pain in the ass at the time. Season 2 rolled round and the show was still bloody brilliant. And I had another dabble in the fandom, but drifted out again as real life and other fandoms took up more of my attention. So I took the notion to rewatch the shows this week as Season 3 should air this summer. The show is just as awesome as I remember and now there is LOADS more fiction around *g* And I have the notion to make some Sherlock art, I think I might do more than dabble this time *g*
As for me, well I mostly make artwork for other people stories or make wallpapers, manips, banners and icons for various people. I dabble in writing but I haven't posted anything on this archive. Most of my finished work, what little there is of it, is mostly on LJ.
I also love Terry Pratchett (British fantasy writer…..I recommend that everyone should give him a shot, he is so funny)
I have other fandoms I like but none that I really go out of my way to read in fan fiction. The Man From U.N.C.L.E, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, NCIS (but I cant stand Tony, so sorry Tony fans.) I watch for Gibbs, Ducky, McGee and Fornell *g*. I have recently discovered Person of Interest and I am really enjoying watching it.
If you want to know anything personal drop me a PM with the reason why and I might get back to you *g*
