Getting to Know Me Name: Danielle Age: 14 Always a Potterhead Hogwarts House: Gryffindor Ilvermony House: Thunderbird Wand: 11 and 3/4 inches, fir wood, phoenix feather core, hard flexibility Patronus: Wild Boar Zodiac Sign: (just for fun) Leo Favorite Color: Blue Favorite Bible Verse: Philippians 4:8-9 My Thoughts on Fanfiction In my opinion, fanfiction writing and reading is a force of nature. When you write a story, the ideas flow from different sources, depending on who you are. For me, my inspiration is drawn from songs and their lyrics, as well as how they apply to my favorite couples. Hence, most of my stories will be songfics. Reading fanfiction is an experience like no other that I have been witness to. Stories filled with happiness make your heart melt, fics filled with angst make you scream and cry - in a nutshell, reading fan fiction toys with your emotions, but you love it. You love having your emotions come and sit on the surface, or explode through the roof. It is an intense emotional roller coaster... for the fandoms only. Hobbies Music - I absolutely adore music in almost any way, shape or form. I play clarinet in a concert band, and I am an avid listener of every type of music, (except most rap songs). I've been singing since I was 7, and my voice has only grown and matured since then. I practice regularly to keep myself in prime vocal condition. Music is one of the most important things in my life, and I dedicate most of my time to it. I'll even play the piano at most family gatherings to stay connected with one of my favorite things. Writing - I have been writing since I was a young girl, and I have always loved it. I am one of the few people who enjoy writing term papers, but I have also grown to love writing (but not necessarily reading) poetry and developing my own creative short stories. Writing is my therapy, along with music, and it holds an important place in my life. Theater and Film: These are two things I just love love love! Cinematography has always fascinated me. Directors such as Blake Edwards (The Days of Wine and Roses, Breakfast at Tiffany's) have gained a certain respect from me for their desire to break from the stereotypical Hollywood attitude and routine. Broadway plays are a huge favorite of mine, and I love the authentic vibes given from a stage play. I participate in the Drama Club at my high school, so that I am able to use what I learn from movies and theater shows on stage. A Few of My Favorite Things Movies: The Sound of Music (1965): Need I say more? Ok, I guess I can say a little bit more. Captivating scenery, clever and intriguing dialogue, not to mention the absobloominlutely amazing music and the incredibly talented cast. This is my all-time favorite movie hands down. Say anything bad about this movie or any of its actors, prepare to be on the receiving end of my lawyer persona... I've been told it's quite intimidating. You have been warned. Mary Poppins (1964): I suppose it's fair to say that I am a big fan of the classics and this movie is the definition of Disney. You hear Disney, you think Mickey Mouse, I hear Disney, I think Mary Poppins. That's just how life works. And no I am most definitely not looking forward to the Mary Poppins sequel, but that is all I'm going to say on the subject... unless you want me to go into explicit detail as to all of the reasons that a Mary Poppins sequel that lacks a certain English actress is a degradation of a timeless classic? No, no, I didn't think so. Grumpy Old Men 1 2 (1993 1995): These movies are the epitome of humor from the 1990s. Honestly, Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon are one of the funniest comedic duos out there, and adding Ann Margret to the mix brings a uniqueness to these movies. Classic. TV Shows: NCIS (2003 - ): Best drama on TV. Mark Harmon is BRILLIANT and the whole cast (up until these last few seasons) work seamlessly together. I don;t mind Bishop so much, but the other two (I don't have any idea what their names are) have kind of disconnected me from the show. However, I am happy to stay in the past with Ziva and Jenny. Reba (2001-2007):What can I say? It's REBA MCENTIRE people! She's effortlessly hilarious and I myself love love love to laugh, so it's a perfect fit! I'm still crossing my fingers for a cast reunion... Walker Texas Ranger |
