Quote of the week: Age Old Lie: Dulce et Decorum Est - Pro Patria Mori
Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.(Francis of Assissi)
There is a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results. (Kenneth H. Blanchard)
Stories are butterflies of the writer's soul. They take time, care and dedication to write and lovingly cocoon into the web of words before they are finally let out into the world in the splendor of their colors. They are different from each other - unique - so none is more valuable than the other. Some may have big wings, glittering with myriads of colors, and others are almost unnoticeable in the swarm, only revealing their beauty when their watcher looks at them closer. There are also some that would seem downright ugly, prompting you to stay as far away from them as you could. Some will touch you, some will not, but all of them are a part of the person who had wrote them out.
It takes courage to let them into the world, where it's not only sunshine, but rain, snow and cold, because their writer is parting with a tiny bit of their soul to make the world a little bit better, brighter and more colorful, no matter the outcome. (Eirenei, 22.5. 2016)
I don't know about you, but I got a very unpleasant surprise today. Miss Hitman posted up a notice that there exist mirror sites that copy our works from FF net without by-our-leave. In essence, they are spam sites that mooch both the stories and accounts from FF, the layout is the same, only you can't log in your account or search for stories by author, community or forum.
Frankly, it pissed me off, because I didn't allow the reproduction of my works from FF (aside my manual cross-posting to AO3,) to any third party outside. This had been happening since April 2015, and I am appalled I found about this only now. I've reported about issue to the admin team of FF net (with a poke that they really ought to stop such safety leaks), and reported the situation to Google phishing team. Hopefully, this could get the situation under control, because those mirror sites can give you a crap-load of troubles if you click on their advertising links (or so I've heard). But better safe than sorry.
I am cross-posting this link on how to report the stuff to Google for you. It seems that if the situation doesn't get under control, I will be forced to make AO3 my primary posting account. I seriously don't want to do that as I got used to FF layout and its tweaks, while AO3 is still getting revved up, but if the worse comes to worst, I will.
Sorry to give you such a crappy notice, but as your fellow writer and reader of the works on FF, I felt you ought to know. If you are reading this on one of the mirror sites - so, not FF, then I ask of you to come to original site because I and my fellow writers did NOT allow our works to be copied on the mirrors by our leave, and as such, those mirrors count as stealing of intellectual property, aka our stories.
19.3.2013: Blog-rollin' around.
I decided to document my writing growth and commemorate all the more important bits in my life. So there you go, the blog PlotdragonsAnonymous, which also doubles as a sounding board for the would-be next projects or simply the bits of stories that amused me enough to not lose 'em to the paper hell I call my writing board. /Sweatdrops/. Unofficially, it's birth was in December last year, but officially I am launching it at the above aforementioned date. Let's hope it will live long and prosperous life. /Spock Gesture Of Peace/. IDIC, anyone
11.8.2015 Status update:
As of 8.8.2015 Who We Are is officially finished, and is in MHB's hands to get beta-ed through. I don't exactly know when she will get it back to me, because the monster is 90k long - meaning y'all can look forward to some long sleepless nights - it certainly didn't help with mine! /groans, exasperated/. Who We Are will thus officially conclude the Scrapbook Jewels collection of one-shots-waiting-to-be-multi-shots, however because of it's length I don't know whether I would pull off updating it in one piece. Hopefully, I will, but if not, then you will get two notices - for Scrapbook Jewels, where it will be the first part, and for stand-alone Who We Are, which will be complete. On AO3, there will only be one version published under Scrapbook Jewels. Now, onto the news you actually want to read:
8.2. 2016 Status update
Change in beta status. Some works may be compromised because of it, but eventually, I will try and upload them on the site. As it stands, I am immensely grateful to Luna13 for her patience and help with bastardizing French and overall straightening my French with Who We Are, and hopefully, you will all met her once again in my French related projects. Sewarea is the new one in beta-ing waters of FF, but she impressed me with her work and dedication, and as such, she is the main culprit for Among The Hawks And Doves' latest chapter coming out so soon. She also picked up Reach For The Sky. The troublesome butlers and their surly ward in Fire And Ice are unofficially left to another beta's tender mercies. She agreed to take them to her care, so give it up for Paxloria! Suffice to say, I hope to update the new chapter sometime this week /cheeky smile/. If there's anyone interested to beta Eyeshield 21-related works, PM me and we'll see if you have what it takes!
Works In Progress:
Kitten Trouble - I intend to have the interlude-ish chapter out this week sometime at weekend, at least in writing, but not online yet.
Among The Hawks And Doves (Chapter getting revved up, and this time, I am actually amused with ideas bouncing through my head. Got good songs, too.)
Fire And Ice (8.2. 2016) - Finished new chapter, beta-ing pending. Hopefully I will upload it this week.
Reach For The Sky Got a new batch of prompts loaded and ready to write off to, but I think I will slowly begin to conclude the series.
Crimson Sagittarius Pondering on a timeline. I am thinking to get the storyline merged with Bleach, at least up until Aizen's defeat. The arcs after this one seem more than a bit pointless to me.
Sun Rises At Midnight:On back burner, another original project in works. Actually, in rewrite.
Works I am not intending to resurrect right now, but are pending. I will update, however right now not having any inspiration for the works - so I don't know exactly when.
Hot Pursuit - I lost the whole chapter for the thing and I will have to get back behind the desk to do it all over again /grimaces/. Have some drafts, but nothing I am satisfied with yet.
Final Fantasy ReLoad - Draft for the next chapter in progress. Reno will definitely be in trouble in this one, yo.
Kobayashi Maru - Naruto ending both baffled and irked me, though it gave me several ideas to implement. Definitely more chibi Naru and probably chibi Hinata.
Dancing Queen - Re-work needed. I did get a notice that I bashed Kagome too much. Personally, I don't have anything against her, but man, the girl could be a little bit more sensible. (Honestly, traipsing in Sengoku Jidai in a short skirt? Is the girl begging to be made into a pleasure slave?)
The Path Of Grace - Partially resurrected, but still in the background. I aim to get the whole match arcs done in one sitting, and so far, I've finished with Zokugaku one in two days. /exhausted/. Ye gads, and to think that there are Bando Spiders, Kyoshin Poseidons, Shinryuuji Naga, Teikoku Alexanders and all the others.../sweatdrops at the sheer amount of work/. Hello, masochism, nice to meet you.
Choice Of The Hearts - Have something... somewhere. I switched from the computer to laptop, so it will take some time to find this one, and edit it a little bit better for reading.
Naked And Sacred - Have quarter of chapter written out, much work to do on that one still.
Those are not all my stories, as I have multiple drafts and plotlines to do yet, however the ones mentioned here are on to-do list, that has to be done sooner than later. /sweatdrops/.
Fandoms I will write in for the foreseeable future:
