![]() Author has written 87 stories for Battlestar Galactica: 2003, Supernatural, Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man, Star Wars, American Assassin, Major Crimes, MacGyver, Batman, and Avengers. (Edited: 1 April 2018) I want to write professionally. I live in North Carolina. I majored in American and Military History in college. Since a lot of people here at least seem to be female, I guess I should mention that I'm a guy. Not that it really matters, I suppose. I am 41-years-old with this edition of my profile. I've been a sci-fi fan since before I can remember...probably due to seeing Star Wars at a very young age. As an example of what I mean by "young age," I saw Star Wars at a drive-in. I know...I'm old. (A few years ago, I realized that I probably saw the 1980 re-release at that drive-in, since I was only a year old when it came out for the first time in 1977...). But I digress. I was a huge West Wing, Star Trek, Boston Legal, Being Human (US), Supernatural, and Babylon 5 fan. Currently, my TV must-sees are Agents of Shield, NCIS, The Flash, Teen Wolf and Major Crimes. I've enjoyed reading others' work here as much as I've enjoyed contributing my own work. I've "met" some great (and truly helpful) people on this site, and my work has only gotten better because of them. I have also found that reviews are addictive. They don't tell you that when you register... Once you start getting them, you start living for them. I was member of Faye Dartmouth's and geminigrl11's SFTCOL(AR)S group. Those women and the other members are/were great writers and I was proud to interact and share ideas with them. Sadly the group is defunct now. For Supernatural fans, I got drawn into writing a series of AU stories that build off each other, starting in the season one finale and proceeding from there...never thought that would happen. While I try to keep each one self-contained, I wanted to provide this guide to the timeline. You don't have to read them in this order, but it helps: In the Pursqueeter, That Old Black Magic & Truth and Consequences. Several stories of mine have been printed in two Supernatural fanzines, "The Brotherhood," and Jeanne Gold's "Blood Brothers." I posted the stories here after a one year period (after publishing), but you should pick up the books if possible, they're really quite good! Two of them, Haunted and Five of a Kind, are connected, taking place in an alternate Season 6 when Sam and Adam were both saved from the Cage. There's also an earlier 3-parter, Apocalypse, set after Dean went to Hell in Season 3/4. I have occasionally written "round robins" with geminigrl11, K Hanna Korossy, Yum@ and Phx. We did several and took turns posting them. I'm currently enthralled with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and started writing in that universe with a Captain America piece titled Better Late Than Never, and continuing with Getting Away from it All. I've also have a few Thor and Amazing Spider Man pieces up. Currently, I have a series of stories set after Captain America: The Winter Soldier, following Cap's search for Bucky. The series in order, is as follows: Visiting Hours, Breaking the Leash, Chasing Ghosts Part I, Inseparable, 168 Hours, Realists, Chasing Ghosts Part II, Sparring, I'll be Home for Christmas, Just One More Dance, Close to Home, and 98 Years Young. They are mostly stand-alone stories, but many elements connect as the series progresses and all will (hopefully) hang together as one long series. Feel free to drop me a message if you have a comment, question, praise, scorn, or anything else. I'm open to criticism...after all, that's part of the reason we're all here, right? Cheers! |
