I needed a writing exercise. A friend was frustrated with their favorite show. They asked me to see what I could do. I binge-watched, I wrote, I passed along. Happiness ensued. They said if I didn't post it somewhere, they'd do it for me. These stories are the results.
What's the scoop on the novel-length, ongoing story "Top of the World"?
Set several years from now [think Season 16/17/etc., "Top of the World" is a canon-compliant tale [writing in tandem with the current season] about things we haven’t seen on screen, rather fitting into the cracks left behind. The theme is exploring how it is exactly the world keeps resting on the Winchester family’s shoulders. Secondary goals include a look into what the brothers' lives are like behind-the-scenes, the times we *don't* see, as well as subverting tropes.
It is "Canon Compliant (with a twist)", which means exactly what you think it means! In the very first chapter, you're going to run across something early on that might make you think - Why oh WHY didn't Nash tag that? Please give it a chance. Like I said above, tropes are going to get turned on their heads. And trust me when I say this story is a mystery. Things are not as they seem. You'll get some answers sooner than later, but keep in mind this plot has been mapped out for years - there are lots of clues as to what's coming sprinkled along the way [wink].
I will edit/re-upload chapters as often as any typos or formatting errors that slipped by the first time are noted. If I edit/re-upload for glaring canon mistakes or to tweak something due to a story line/character development that occurs on the current season which would impact the story, I'll make a note at the bottom of the chapter. Feel free to shoot me a message or stick in a review any misfires you catch that I and/or my friend have overlooked.
