Story Update Status
New Darkness (Title Pending): Priority- High
This is my latest work of fiction. It is currently seven chapters long with approximately eight-thousand words a chapter. Many of you are probably wondering why I haven't released it yet. The truth is, I want to finish it before I post it, so I have encouragement to continue it. I've put a lot of work into it and there's still a good amount of work to be done, but I promise you it'll be worth the wait. Until then, the only spoiler you're going to get is that this is a crossover of with an equally chaotic series. Trust me, you'll love it, and you don't need to know a thing about the crossover series to enjoy it. I've spared no expense, even going so far as to get Black Dragon6 to be my comedic adviser. Every chapter comes with his stamp of approval. You can read more about him below, or better yet, just read his stories.
108 Destinies: Priority- Low
Yes, still in progress but inspiration is fleeting. The plot needs direction right now and I'm not going to continue the story until I know what I want to do with it. Not abandoned though.
Guardian Fury: Priority- Medium
Direction is present but the story itself is getting a little out of hand with just how epic this quest is becoming. Not to mention the sheer number of characters this thing is going to have. I'll probably have to pull a "Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World" and just silence a few forever. But I have to say their personalities are just so much fun to write.
Kingdom Bloopers: Priority- Insanely Low
Yeah, this is pretty much a by-inspiration fanfic, and against the rules of fanfiction dot net. I should probably take it down, but there are still many people enjoying it. I haven't given up on writing bloopers for KH2, but I've currently lost my copy of the game and I've had no luck acquiring a new one yet.
Ranma and the Land of Symphonia: Priority- Low
Ugh. Where to begin on this one? It's my first series, so I've grown a bit of an unhealthy attachment to this story, but when I really look back at it, I can see that my writing was abysmal and childish. But can you blame me? This was started five years ago. I wasn't even in High School then and I knew pretty much nothing about literature in general. I've matured since then, but I honestly can't read through this without wanting to re-write it. So, expect a re-write in the future. Not an abandonment though.
Ranma: Hour of Chaos: Priority- Low
Another story that needs direction, much like 108 Destinies. I also need to make up my mind about whether or not I want to keep this purely humorous or if I want to try and take a more serious overtone. Until then, it's on the back burner.
Smash Brother Ranma: Priority- Medium
No longer a re-write. Yay. Now I just need to find out how the hell I am going to handle Sonic and his crew without disturbing eons of canon history.
Cat`s Paw: Priority- High
It's fairly new, so inspiration is still high. I have no idea why this thing is so absurdly popular (seriously, it's got thirty mover 'favorites' than my leading story), but I'm not inclined to complain. It's a crossover with a visual novel, so like a visual novel there are going to be some reader inspired choices down the line in the form of polls. Currently, chapter four is about three-fourths complete and sitting at about 4,000 words.
As far as the fanfiction reviewers and writers academy goes, I've begun taking it in a new direction. For those of you who have been stalking me relentlessly, you might have noticed that I've begun a chain of forums in the Haruhi Suzumiya section and the Rosario + Vampire section which revolves around in-depth critiques of stories and general writing skills. Not exactly what I set out to do when I started the academy, but I encourage anyone who wants a laugh or to improve their writing skills to go over and check them out. Drop a comment if you're interested in putting your story up on the chopping block. Don't expect any mercy though.
Update: After much consideration, I have started another 'fanfic critic' forum in the Ranma 1/2 section in the old Flamers forum. If you're looking to get an in-depth detailed review for your story, head on over to see if you qualify. The forum is currently holds 7th place in the Ranma archive and is called The Fanfiction Critic.
My favorites list only includes stories that are completed. Most of the incomplete stuff I really like is in my story alert list. If you're looking through my profile for good stories I recommend checking out the stories under my "favorite authors" list. Below is a summary on each of them.
Black Dragon6: My favorite author of the bunch and the one who encouraged me to start writing fanfiction. His writing style is wild and chaotic, bringing in humor and gags from all forms of popular entertainment. Although he has a slight obsession with original characters (his story Guardian is made up of an almost completely original cast), they don't muck up the story like other OC's do. As far as I'm concerned, his writing style is pure genius at the best of times and he's my fanfiction writing idol.
Ozzallos: A man with a flair for Sailor Moon and Ranma crossovers and crossovers with other popular anime, somehow still able to breathe life into a well worn fandom paths. Although I can't quite get over his obsession with sticking Ranma in girl form (and occasionally sticking her with males), there's no denying his work is top quality and his story "The Best of Times" is worth reading at least once.
Velf: Truly an epic writer. Slightly dissatisfied with the ending to the really cute anime "Spirited Away" I searched fanfiction dot net for solace and found this girl. Be prepared for the long haul though, her stories are well above the average novel length.
jBern: An epic Harry Potter writer. His poster story "Bungle in the Jungle" is told in a unique second person view with a copious amount of anarchic humor and bad ass-ness that makes it so you just can't seem to stop reading. I haven't read his story "To Fight the Coming Darkness" but his other story "The Lie I've Lived" (told in first person) is also an excellent read.
thablackkuririn: A fanfiction author who has his heart on doing this stuff for a living some day. Of particular interest is his "Might and Magic" series in the making which is how I found him. Although his updates are infrequent, he's worth the wait, and I expect many great things to come from him in the future.
