Hello all, name's Erelil!
A little something about myself: I'm based in northern Norway, and I'm someone who loves writing and reading. I enjoy nature, travelling and exploring new things. Some of my hobbies include theatre, song, dance, practicing the piano and working out, along with my previously listed interests. I am a lover of all things Middle-earth, and a Tolkienist by heart and soul. Tolkien has mixed most of my interests into one amazing universe and I've just fallen completely in love with it. You can say I left my heart in Middle-earth;) I write and read fantasy, and on this account I'll show some of my fiction works. The stories I post will mainly take place in Middle-earth, and will especially be about the Elves, as they have a special place in my heart.
Additional notes regarding my works:
New stories and updates will come when they're ready, and not on a certain date or time. I write when I feel like it, and not because I feel forced to do it. However, if it's a multi-chaptered story, I will try to write most of the chapters before publishing, so I can update regularly. Good things take time, and I want my works to be good, or at least decent, before I publish them. Older stories may also be updated, as I find my writing skills improving from time to time. I’m not a native speaker of the English language, so if you find some grammatical errors, then I'm sorry, and feel free to correct me. I’m all open for constructive criticism, and tips that can improve my writing and stories! However, flaming and hate is never a good thing, so please keep the heat away from the review-sections and my PMs.
Beside Middle-earth, I am also able to write other stories and I do take requests for other things. So if you do want me to write a story feel free to message me, and I'll see what I can do. There's no guarantee that I will write your request, however. Depends on the plot, genre or if I've seen/read that specific movie/book/show.
Disclaimer regarding all of my fanfiction works: I do not own anything regarding the world(s) I write in, nor do I earn any money from writing these stories. I have not, and will never, make up my own facts about Middle-earth or alter the timeline. If I ever find myself doing such a thing, I'll make it clear in my story, or mark it as an AU. All honour to the directors, authors and makers that helped bring Middle-earth to life! Also—until I have mastered Elvish—I am not the maker of any Elven sentences, words, or dialouges. Anything that has to do with languages is not mine! All credit and a thousand thanks to the creators behind the websites and Parf Edhellen. I own only my OCs, my plot idea and my imagination.
Future multi-chaptered stories:
Even Though I Love You - Echadriel Arodel, a persistent and curious female Elf and a Lady of Elven cities. Together with her dear friend Celebrimbor she journeys to the recently founded Eregion, to dwell there in hope for a permanent home of peace. Years after, an Elf with an unknown past arrives in Ost-en-Edhil. He calls himself Annatar, and is both wise and fair. Echadriel unknowingly becomes a victim of Sauron's lies and tricks, as she finds herself more captivated by the newcomer for every day that goes by. Sauron—believing he can use this Elf to gain trust from the high leaders of the Eldar—pretends to be just as captivated by her, as she is by him. Everything seems to be working according to plan, until the Dark Lord himself starts to gain long forgotten feelings for his victim. When the truth is revealed of Annatar's true intentions for the Elves, will one of the lovers be ready to leave behind all their beliefs to join the other, for either good or bad? Or will this be the end for one of them... or both?
Benders: Hidden Past - Raileen and Ellhaimer is travelling around in Middle-earth, going anywhere their hearts desire. But one evening, as they come upon an Elf of the Sindar going by the name Elvea, Raileen's heart soon begins to desire something else than just adventure and freedom. However, Raileen’s father does not tolerate his son walking about freely, like he currently is. Neither does he like the fact that Raileen’s tutoring other benders on how to get control over their abilities. And now, the airbender is about to see just how ruthless and cruel the Dark Lord can be. Will he find enough strength to overcome what his father throws at him, or will this twist break him apart and scar him forever?
Disclaimer: I give all credit and honour to Jaya Avendel for this story! Raileen and other benders in the future chapters, as well as the whole idea about Benders is hers and not mine! I’m simply borrowing these amazing characters and owe none, except my own OCs. Jaya’s stories can be read at her site, Jaya Avendel. I highly recommend you read her stories about Benders before you read this, as this is not in the original Benders saga. Starting right at this story will be very confusing and bewildering! This story is a fanfiction story of another fanfiction story, you can say. When the time comes, enjoy and remember to give the credit to Jaya!
The Erelil Chronicles:
My main project, and one of the biggest reasons I started writing. It's an OC/Legolas, but a slow burn. So it might not be what some of you prefer, but I do this for me. And I wanted to do right by the characters in Tolkien's books, and right by her. This is not a Mary Sue, and I will never make her like one either. I have loads of stories planned for these series, and if you would like to stick around and follow her journey, I created a community for these series, which you can visit in the link below.
Note that I have taken a break from these series, as I've decided to start anew. This is due to poor writing and that I wish to do it differently, time and motivation is also hard to come by these days... Hope you all can understand.
My absolute favourite characters from all of Tolkien’s Middle-earth related works: Aragorn, Arwen, Beleg, Celeborn, Celebrían, Eärendil, Ecthelion, Elladan, Elrohir, Elrond, Fëanor, Fingolfin, Fingon, Finrod, Galadriel, Glorfindel, Legolas, Lúthien, Mablung, Maedhros, Maglor, Thranduil, Turgon.
Favourite Valar and Valier: Manwë, Nienna, Varda, Yavanna.
Favourite Maiar: Arien and Tilion. You don't hear that much about those two though, which is sad.
Favourite OC that’s not one of my own: Raileen, from Jaya Avendel’s story ‘Benders’.
They're randomly written. And as you can see, my heart lies with the Elven race! Most of these characters will appear in my stories, some more often than others.
Sworn Oaths and food for thought:
I, Erelil Awarthiel, do solemnly swear to review all the fics I read, regardless of the number of reviews, its age, or anything else.
I have joined the review revolution.

I hereby swear to never leave fan fiction and the friends I've made here without trace. If a circumstance occurs in which I must sever myself from this site, be it known that I will put an explanation on my profile. This is because my heart breaks whenever I read an amazing story, and then find out that the writer is gone. I never know if he/she'll ever come back, and must live my days wondering, hoping against hope that he/she'll return. I am the girl that doesn't go to school dances, or games, and when I do go, I sit in a corner and read a book.
When you find yourself enjoying a story it is easy to just click out of it again after finishing it, and probably tempting too. But please, at least give a sign that you were there; that you enjoyed it. Have you ever not been overly happy when you find out that you have received a good review? When they say how much they liked it? No! Kind reviews are always nice. Let's be honest, all of us like reviews, but you can't expect to get any, if you don't give any yourself now can you? It only takes a couple of seconds, and it doesn't even have to be a long review. Just a word or two saying that you liked it, or that it was well written can be enough to make people smile all day long. So think about that next time you enjoy a story:)
A bad and flaming review can be stuck in a writer's mind for a long time, and we must all focus a bit more on the good things, and the potential that the story (and writer) has. I'm not saying that you should just pretend like nothing is wrong, when reading a poorly written FanFic. However, instead of going all Balrog-rage on the story and its writer, give criticism that may help the writer to become a better one. Don't drag them down. Gandalf falling down in Moria, by the hands of the Balrog, is the only exception of a moment that lead to greater good when it comes to dragging people down (literally!)
